And STC would be a major downgrade when compared to Shai.
Absolutely. Again, Scout is talented....but Shai is way better. Just my opinion, tho.
Posted comments from Tolmach earlier, but now Webb is also saying that the scenes won't be included on the DVD.
I really wanted to see them, but if the studio plans on recasting the role, including those scenes could be a bit unfair to Shailene and/or the new actress. They don't need people comparing the new actress's performance to Shai's- favorably or unfavorably. Maybe we'll see them in the distant future though.
I'm sure they'll eventually surface somewhere online.
I actually wouldn't object if they decide to bring back Shailene. I say give her another chance.
I'm sincerely hoping & praying they will. But then again, I could just be biased because I totally love Shailene. t:
Same here! I was so happy when they announced she was Mary Jane, and heartbroken when I found out she may not be in the franchise anymore.
I hope she comes back as MJ. She's perfect for the role
I'd like Shailene back to stick it to all those who criticised her before they had even seen her act as MJ.
I'd love for Mary Jane's introduction to be a reenactment of the famous panel from The Amazing Spider-Man #42 with the immortal words of Mary Jane Watson “Face it, Tiger, you just hit the jackpot.”
I'd geek out with absolute joy
That face is Margot Robbie
^ Would be great if they managed to work that into a future film. t:
The more I've had time to let it marinate, the more I believe at this point Shailene probably wouldn't even want to return for the third installment. The series is declining fast & Sony isn't trying to make any wise decisions as to elevate it. Quite honestly, it'd only hinder her career at this point.
I agree. Fault of Our Stars is tracking well and she has the Divergent franchise for which she is the actual star.
oh for goodness sake, just use Emma Stone.
she is the perfect MJ.
who's gonna know? just sneak it in there.
she is perfect.
I disagree, I really don't think MJ when I see Emma.
I see Gwen Stacy - crack head
Yep. It's like someone created her in a science lab or something to be the exact replica of 616 MJ. Minus the red hair of course.
Personally I hope they replace Shailene Woodley. Not a fan. Much like Jennifer Lawrence, I don't understand her rise to stardom. Not comparing the two as actresses, just don't understand what is special about either of them. They're both mediocre to me.
I was just about to post this. I agree with everything you just said. I doubt she would want to return now that the series is in shambles.
So, The Fault In Our Stars came out today and Shailene made the 99% female teenagers sob, myself included.
It looks pretty good. Might wait until it comes out on DVD. Still have to see Days Of Future Past.
Yeah, she's probably not coming back. TFIOS is a hit which made four times its budget on the first weekend alone. There's nothing for her to gain from staying with the Spiderman franchise.
The only thing I've seen Shailene Woodley in is The Descendents, which is a fantastic movie, and her Golden Globe nomination was well-deserved.
I've read The Fault In Our Stars, and yes, it is a tear-jerker. I haven't seen the movie yet, though. Considering how great she was in The Descendents, I can see how she'd do well for the movie adaption.
I have never read or seen Divergent, but it's a popular young adult movie adaption franchise, so she has that going for her, too.
Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with the other posts here: There's no reason why she'd want to return to Spider-Man, especially with the series being in its current state. She was probably very lucky that her character was cut from the film, actually.
I'm pretty sure she'd want to come back. Why wouldn't she want to become the most important supporting character in the Spider-Man Universe?
