Shane Black Directing Predator Sequel!

what are the chances that Dutch is the predator in this movie?

If Arnie is in this, I think I'd prefer him as one of the Predator's first targets. Kick the Movie off with the Predator going after Prey that survived run ins with other Predators.

i would expect this in a Shane movie. i think it could work. but as a fanboy i want more Arnie .

I'd like him to be a sort of mentor/consultant/Predator expert myself. Helping the new cast in dealing with them basically.

I don't really care for the idea of "Predators with vendettas." It seems to very much go against their code of honor/ethics. If this were the case, then the Predators from the second film would have killed Danny Glover right there on the spot, instead of giving him a "trophy" to commemorate his "victory" and as a sign of respect (then letting him go). Heck even the crappy AVP movie got that part right.

If there's an entire race of Predators out there somewhere, I'd imagine that they'd at least have some individuality. It wouldn't be farfetched to imagine that there are multiple clans, each who maybe have their own code of conduct. But it could also be a Predator who's gone rogue, and who just lives for the thrill of the kill and couldn't give a rats ass about honor.

I just don't like the idea of, we've seen one Predator, we've seen them all.

The honor/hunter's code is a big part of what makes them interesting for me. Otherwise, they're little more than generic sci-fi monster villains.

It depends how they'd pull it off. I always like a Predator vs Predator scenario. Not the way Predators did it though. But a Predator hunting one of his own, who went rogue, with all the humans in the middle, could be interesting.

I think it'd be almost better if Arnold wasn't in it. He sort of jinxes everything he's in lately.

I think they need to restore the mystique of the Yautja. If they can do that, I'll be on board.

Predator Vs. Lt. Worf in a hand to hand death match!

Well the first movie was an 80's testosterone-fest involving muscle-bound "men's men." Not that I don't love the first film, I really do (heck I like the second and third films as well, they're underrated imo). But, turnabout is fair play.

Plus if the team is made up of badasses like Charlize Theron, Rebecca Ferguson, Michelle Yeoh, Paula Patton, Gwendoline Christie, and Daisy Ridley (as the eager young hotshot), with the Brawny Man himself as the consultant/mastermind, then I'd be all for it myself. ;)

Predator is not a franchise wise to pollute with the women's empowerment movement. Even if the franchise is in as rough shape as Predator is.

Wouldn't mind a female protagonist for once though. In the end, it's rarely strength that brings the Predator down.

How'd that work out for AVP? I'm not seeing these movies for action heroine flavor of the month the media wants to push on us.

I don't know why this is such a big deal. Yeah, media seems to be kind of having an agenda recently, but it's not like women in these franchises is a new thing. Terminator had Sarah Connor, Alien had Ripley, so Predator, which cycles through new characters with every movie, could throw in a woman for just one time. And I'd really not use AvP as an example for anything. That Movie just wasn't good in general.

Guy's you realise I was joking right when I said Jen Lawrence is going to be in the movie and be part of a women's special ops team? Didn't mean to start a semi serious discussion here. :funny:

I know then it kinda started to go into the crappyness we've seen in the Ghostbusters thread.

And most of those buff dudes in the first one died. It wasn't until Dutch figured out that he had to use his brain to stop the Predator, who ended killing himself anyway.

And in the second one, a non-buff man in his middle age defended the Predator.
