Has anyone else been following this on the (uk) news? Pretty crazy crap.
She goes missing, her parents appeal on national tv to the media. She is then found with a pedophile who is her uncle not to far away. We find out her father (who appealed) is pedophile. The guy who she was found with has seriously harmed himself in a suicide attempt and now her mother is being charged with child neglect, apparently someone approached the Madeline Mccann representatives demanding for money when she was missing (although it might not be connected with them), it's still very vague at the moment. Hopefully the full story will unravel soon. Anyone have speculation as to what the heck was going on?

I have an idea of what might of happened and it quite gross. I will say this girl needs to be taken far away from these people.

It's thought that the family tried to fake her kidnapping so a publicly funded ransom would return her. They likely got the idea from the amount of money the McCanns got from Madeleine disappearing. That, and an episode of Shameless.

Leaflets warning people not to take the law into their own hands over the Shannon Matthews inquiry have been circulated by police.

The leaflets have been handed out in Dewsbury Moor, the home of Karen Matthews who appeared in court charged over her daughter's disappearance.

The leaflet reads: "Please do not take the law into your own hands and leave police to do their job."
The house where Shannon, nine, lived with her mother has been boarded up.
A spokesman for Kirklees Council refused to comment on the operation to board up the property.
A large number of the community arrived at Dewsbury Magistrates Court earlier to see Ms Matthews remanded in custody until 16 April.
She faces charges of child neglect and perverting the course of justice in connection with the disappearance of Shannon on 19 February for 24 days.


Part of the leaflet reads: "It is important that the community does not jump to any conclusions about people who may be involved in this inquiry."
Shannon went missing after leaving a local swimming pool with fellow pupils at Moorside Junior School.
During the search West Yorkshire Police described it as the largest missing person's hunt it had ever conducted.
Officers scoured waste land, ponds and searched homes and gardens for three weeks until the schoolgirl was discovered at a house in Ligate Gardens, Batley Carr.


Michael Donovan, 39, the man who lived at the house and the uncle of Ms Matthews' boyfriend Craig Meehan, was charged with kidnap and abduction. He is now awaiting trial.
Meanwhile Mr Meehan, 22, has been charged with possessing indecent images of children.


His sister, 25-year-old Amanda Hyett, was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
Mr Meehan's mother, 49-year-old Alice, was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

If (as seems likely in this case) what is being reported/speculated on actually did transpire (i.e. the family faked the kidnapping as a way to make some money), then I think the family should be mortally ashamed of their actions. But we all know that they won't be, instead, they'll only be ashamed of the fact that they got caught.
