During SHARK WEEK's 20th anniversary celebration from July 29 to Aug. 4, eight all-new programs will air at 9 p.m. ET/PT, joining 103 other programs that have aired since SHARK WEEK's birth in 1988. Additionally, Discovery Channel will fill its programming schedule from 9 a.m. to 3 a.m. (ET/PT) with shark documentaries, including a "Viewers' Choice" hour at 8 p.m. voted by YOU!

i already know the story, why do i want to fall into a downer? i just want to see sharks eating seals. and various other aquatic animals.

I'm watching "Ocean of Fear" right now, I've pretty much seen every documentary and movie on the Indianapolis, but they did an exceptional job with this one.....very interesting....

Damn, 20 years!?
Anyone seen my walker?
I don't have cable, I will miss it.:csad: :down

We're almost up to shark week again. Which is your favourite? Everyone loves the great whites but I really like hammerheads too. I hope different outlets catch onto this and have movie marathons etc

Shark week starts again in exactly one weeks time!

Anyone got any recommendations for good shark movies or docos to watch to commemerote it?

I wish they would spotlight more species of sharks than just the great white.

They usually do. Tigers and great hammerheads are popular subjects as well. Last year had a show on Goblin sharks.

Same! I mean you’ve got basking sharks, cookie cutters etc.

I love tigers and bull sharks too

Really? Every time I've turned it on, all I've seen are shows about great whites. I'm glad to hear about the hammerheads since they're my favorite shark. Have they had any programs about makos or bull sharks? Bull sharks are probably the scariest sharks out there.

They've been doing a good job in recent years. Now, the repeats they have on for the rest of the day will likely be the great white stuff, as I think those are a bit more popular.

Deep Blue Sea is a pretty good shark movie and features 3 oversized makos, since the last few posts were on other species.

Not so much a shark movie per se, but if you're a fan of Blake Lively, check out The Shallows from last year.

I love both of those films! I’ve actually got deep blue sea 2 on reserve now. Probably won’t be as good as the first one but if it’s fun I’m ok with that

Apparently Rhonda roussey has a shark week doco due too. That could be fun

Makos have definitely had one in the past couple of years. I don't recall a specific Bull shark episode recently, but they get mentioned fairly often in other docs. Same with your Black tips and White tips.

It’s cute they’re doing an ep on great white babies. It’s all well and good to get the drama going but I hope they help rehabilitate great white shark’s image too

Got my DVR all set. A lot of stuff set to record.
