Sharkman from Thrill House Comics: Anyone pick this up

Comic shops didn't have it but I downloaded it after that article and I'm gonna try and see if I can stick it on a pull list before I head off to uni. The art was amazing, the story a bit shocking. It was a really good read and at the very least I want it in trade

Ok, so why is the story shocking

I was going to try this, but i cant get past the name. it sounds so stupid. The art is very nice.

Well
Sharkman and his butler dies and his son's being hunted by the police, but it's been set up so he'll be the next Sharkman.
It's really brilliant, dramatic stuff. Not enough of you are reading this. Clearly...

but why doe s he have such a stupid name? Are the villians going to fall down from LOL so much?

All superheroes have stupid names. A shark is scarier than a bat.

but my point is that Batman the name was created in a much simpler time when comics were for kids... now we know better, so there is no excuse for such a silly name.

I'm afraid it doesn't work like that. Silly "codenames", as they've came to be known, are made all the time. The idea is that Sharkman is based on Batman, a rich billionaire who set up New Venice, a futuristic city with canals for roads. He has an underwater (version of) 'batcave' and a butler and is at odds with the corrupt governor or mayor (or something) in the city, who wants him out. It's brilliant. If you don't like silly names don't read comics, or stick to... the Pun-- no... um... nah, there's nothing. Don't read comics. no offense, like.

Not so. When Batman was created, comicbooks were outselling national newspapers. EVERYBODY read them, young and old. During WWII, comics were especially popular with the US troops.

Besides, a silly name is a silly name. If Sharkman is silly then Batman is silly.

your missing the point! When the name Batman was created, almost every other superhero had an equally stupid name. The creative process was just to churn out those books.... now we know better, so I expect more effort.

This name just strikes me as laziness.

I think you're being defensive - you must realise YOU missed the point. The whole character (see my description) is a take-off of Batman (HENCE the name), but the storytelling and art is top-notch.
Plus can you think of a better name?? No. Especially for someone who's supposed to be like batman.

Yeah, and most of those superheroes still exist....

He's like batman, so as far as I can tell he just has gadgets. He had the equivalent of the shark-mobile. It was a hammerhead-shaped submarine that was devastating. seriously, kick-ass comic.
recommend, recommend, recommend

he has a shark-mobile

wtf

if he is like Batman, then why not just go out & read the real thing instead of this sharkbait

but he has a shark mobile, you said he does..

AAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHHAHAHAAHAHHH

sigh... seriously what are you doin reading comics if you laugh at THAT. anyway i fear i've put u off more than sold it to u.
i really like it... someone buy it... im gonna...

its not actually called that but ok.. *pats deathlok on head*
