Civil War Sharon carter A.K.A. Agent 13 - Part 2

Sharon was never meant to be the leading lady in TWS. M&M even said that her role was at first a generic agent working for Fury before she became Agent 13. If anyone's role was cut down to make more room for BW it was Sam's.
I'd agree with you if it weren't for a Fandango M/M interview around the time TFA came out where they discussed Sharon for the next movie.

And Widow wasn't meant to be the leading lady but she did after the Russos pushed for her to get a bigger role at Sharon's and perhaps Sam's expenses. Even the Russos exclaimed that they "love Black Widow and Scarlett too".

No part of widow's dialogue resembled Sharon. Nat came out as mysterious, dubious and secretive in the movie, the exact opposite of how Sharon was. She was straight-forward and more sweet than Nat. Widow was widow and behaved like Widow.

You do realize that Sharon is a spy, right?

But if it is Sharon being dubious and secretive you want...

Really? Just google "captain america the winter soldier leading lady" for your abundant answers. Many articles about a search for Cap's leading lady that ended up being given to BW at the Russos behest.

The fossil dig at Cap was a very Sharon dialogue. Sharon was known to tease Steve for being old. Yes, Widow was sorta widow but widow took Sharon's role in TWS.

There is no sorta widow. if you have any experience with Widow's demeanor you know the film was close to that. Widow was femme fatale and extremely secretive like her comics counterpart. Sharon was not like that and i don't stick to a line of dialogue to justify that, there is a much larger characterization than that.

You shape the argument to fit your needs but there is no 100% source that says Sharon was supposed to be the leading lady. Honestly i have had enough of this. A couple of people here have a serious case of victim mentality. No one is gonna change your minds ao there is no point in contuining this. You are gonna go in the movie with fixed minds anyway that the MCU hates Sharon. have fun with that.

I also noticed that they ignored the question if EVC plays a pivotal role in the movie, but in an earlier interview they freely and unprompted spoke about how Cap and BW share two pivotal moments in the movie.

However, I'm hoping we are wrong and that the Russos want to keep her role hush hush / surprise. But I doubt it with the evidence presented.

Damn, I noticed too. I just hope, really hope that's it just their way to keep her role a suprise.

Actually that's my hope for everytime they ignored her (posters, trailers, etc).

I can't wait to see her for 2.3 secondes in this new trailer ! (This is how desperate I am :woot:).

I kind of feel like she will have a pivotal role at the end or something... Like maybe she helps get Steve out of jail, helps him go on the run, etc.

I kind of feel like that's why things have been so tight-lipped about her... and not some great anti-Sharon conspiracy or whatever....

I think you're right.

If they said her role was pivotal, people would quickly learn that Steve would go to jail and that Sharon would break him out.

Let's all just pretend this was in the teaser trailer #TeamCap

:o

I can not wait to see her in the new trailer! I'm so excited! :D

So anyone still wanna talk about how marvel likes Sharon?

It would have been nice to have Sharon in the trailer. Maybe fighting Black Widow or something? That trailer was too awesome for me to complain about. Oh well. Sharon wasn't in it. Maybe she'll be in another one or at least a tv spot?

I don't know. Maybe different adverbs spoil different things.

Like, "somewhat pivotal" would spoil Sharon springing Steve from jail. While "quite pivotal" would spoil that Sharon would pump him full of bullets.

Is that how it works, Suzanne?

It's like...too much for them to put at least one scene with her. They released an international psoter today and she wasn't in it either. That's just great.

Most of the characters that weren't Avengers weren't on the poster.

Most of the characters that weren't Avengers weren't on the poster.

There were a bunch of stuff that weren't Avengers in the trailer, though. Like, an arctic plateau, a helicopter, random mooks, the sea.

I guess they really needed that sea to get butts in seats.

It's pretty clear now that Captain America is going to die...a 95 year old virgin ;) .

So, nobody has anything to defend the Russos with. Good.

What do they need to be defended from? A handful of irate Sharon 'stans on a message forum? She's in the film, probably hitting on Steve at the funeral of the love of his life who just happens to be her aunt. We're all awaiting that with bated breath, I'm sure. :o

I think there was a reasonable expectation that Sharon Carter would become an important and major character to the MCU.

Obviously, this is a big movie with a ton of characters, and some are not going to be getting as much attention as others. Sharon Carter is one of those obvious candidates.

Ask the gaggle of posters who were irate at the implication that the Russos don't like her.

Wah! Wah! Sharon wasn't in the trailer! Who cares? Would have been nice, but who cares? How about you wait to see the movie before you judge them, huh?

Maybe it's not disliking her so much as these films have to service a bunch of other characters, and Sharon Carter and Captain America's love life are two of the the casualties.

IMHO it is kind of sad that all the other characters can seemingly get romances except Cap at this point. I still think going the Black Widow/Hulk route was a weird choice.

Who cares? Hell of a thing to ask in the Sharon Carter thread.

Two years ago she wasn't in the trailers and people were saying we should wait for the movie to see Sharon's role.

Then we saw the movie and how much of Sharon was in it, and people brushed it off and said she will have a big role next time.

I'm guessing in a few months it'll be 'she might be in Infinity War'

Just what would convince people the Russos don't care about Sharon?

I don't think they "have" to service anyone. Sharon just happens to be quite literally the last character they have any interest in. In other words...
