No it doesn't make any sense, it makes it look like Steve has never gotten over Peggy, so he's going to go for the next best thing, the chick who is a closest relative of her. It's disturbing, almost hillbilly crap to me. They should have created a character like Bucky who is female, or maybe introduce an alien like Gamora, someone who can live as long as him so he's not left alone again. Remember, he's still projected to live another 150 years, and so he's going to have to go through the grief all over again in the end with Sharon. An alien woman, or a mutant woman who can live a long time would be better.

Now I do have kind of an ick factor for her being the niece. LOL
It feels like he just has something for that DNA line.

Cap has probably not had any action whatsoever if you know what I mean for 70 plus years and life went on without him Peggy moved on she found someone else so if Cap finds someone else or he gets action with someone else what is the problem? Just because Sharon is Peggy's niece so what

Steve wasn't married to Peggy and he has no obligation to stay single for her. Heck, Peggy got married with someone else after he was presumed dead as well. Steve deserves to find happiness with Sharon.

I dont get the dislike for VanCamp as Agent 13. She really wasn't given enough time to form a huge opinion on her.

As for the niece thing...eh. I mean Cap was attracted/interested in her before he knew of the connection to Peggy. So on Cap's end I dont see anything that weird. It's not like Cap's thinking was: "Oh this is Peggy's niece. I'm in love now because of that" And it's also no like Sharon looks exactly like Peggy.

And on Sharon's end...who cares? Really they're both adults. If she wants to kiss the same guy her aunt kissed that's on her.

I just wished they developed the relationship more rather than rushing into it. She really shouldnt have just dropped out of the film like that. Same with BW.

We got the brief scene in TWS, the scene in the hallway, the scene after the funeral...and then the kiss.
All the other scenes they have together is all business

The thing is....we may have seen only a short thing between them in CATWS....but who knows how much other flirting or friendly moments they had before Fury is shot in his apartment. Then in CACW it is hinted at that they have been friendly since the last movie. So they may not have a lot of screen time together, but they could have had a lot of time together to lead up to the kiss.

He said she would have trouble giving the stuff to him, but she didn't care. I don't think she's on the run. Her end ended open for many possibilities.
I think she went back to work, but I don't know if she lost her job or she is being watched. It may even that no one discovered it was her because she's a great agent.

I'm pretty sure Cap told her (something to the extent of) that she'd have to be on the run when they found out she gave them back his costume and she said she knew that and was OK with it. I don't think she went back to work for the government.

That's the impression I got. She went back to work.

If she covered her tracks and stole the gears without anyone linking it to her then it proves she's good at her job. But if her work finds out it was her then she'll have to go on the run.

Also, it might just be me, but Cap didn't really show how grateful he was to Sharon and all the help and risks she took for him. Felt like he took her for granted. If it wasn't for Sharon he wouldn't have found Bucky after 2 years of search and he and Sam would be airport fighting in their casuals.

Yeah but i don't like to play the whole "So and so couldve happened off screen" game

If it's not shown or told with dialogue or said by the filmmakers I don't buy the excuse of something happening off screen.

On film, they didn't really have enough time to build their chemistry imo.

But that's lazy writing. Show me on screen, not off screen. They should've added at least a tender moment between Cap/Sharon; Cap touching her hand when she slid the file to him, or Cap stopping to give Sharon a kind nod and look of thanks before he and Sam ran off to Bucky's room location in that UN building. Little moments count.

He was upset with her after he learned that she was spying on him. They only met again at the funeral.
Why don't they have a brief conversation after he knew in WS? A scene of a few seconds wouldn't have been bad.
At the end of the film Natasha says he should call her, but he doesn't. He moves on. And in Ultron we see him thinking in Peggy.
In CW, we see him trying to kiss her after the funeral. WTF If I were her, I would think that he's scary. t:

She is so pointless in these films, I almost wish they didn't include her at all. Why the hell was she in some promotional materials?

At least don't force the romance if it's not developed organically.

Steve/Bucky is one of the only fully developed personal relationships in the MCU, to the point they seem to have more romantic chemistry than Steve/Sharon at times.

Steve/Peggy is pretty good although that's mostly based on a "what could have been" fantasy and the natural charisma of Hayley Atwell (something Emily VanCamp is sorely lacking).

There's just hardly anyhing there with Steve/Sharon.

i read somewhere in tumblr (although im not sure how reliable that is) that Emily has signed on for around 5 movies so we may see more of her, let's just hope those appearances would mean real development not 5 minutes of screen time for the rest of her appearances. also assuming it is really 5 and she is set to appear in both IW films (short screen time and super supporting role at best) then we can at least hope for a final cap film

I really hope Marvel would put Sharon in an One-Shot, but unfortunately they don't do that anymore.

I think they handled the Sharon and Steve stuff well. For sure there was a spark of something in TWS that we saw grow here. For the love of Stan Lee, we saw that Sharon was willing to put her life on the line for Cap in TWS during the hellicarrier launch stand off. The film had a lot on it's plate and while it would have been nice to see some more Sharon I think there is enough there to indicate the START of something. That's just it... Are people not aware that adults kiss all the time? Yeah, shocking I know, but people kiss people BEFORE they are in total all consuming, let's get married and have six kids and live happily ever until we die on the same day LOVE. These are the tentative steps of mutual attraction. Yeah... Sharon also has a part in this you know. It's not all one sided with Steve in the drivers seat some how controlling Sharon. There's was obvious attraction in TWS and now it's paid off in the baby steps of the start of something.

I don't know... I think fans in general of super heroes in film act strangely when it comes to some of these relationships. The uproar over the Widow and Banner thing comes to mind. There two adults were fumbling with the POSSIBILITY of a relationship. They were not IN one, and they hadn't consummated it. One adult was feeling the other out. It happens, but good lord you'd have thought they had sex on the grave of Betty Ross or something judging from online fans.

Yeah, I don't object to them kissing "out of nowhere" specifically, but in terms of storytelling they could have paid a little more service to the foundation of their relationship considering they're likely to be together for the rest of Cap's time in these films.

I just never saw the chemistry build up over time to the point that they just HAD to kiss in the midst of everything else was going on.

I think I read that the Russos are done with Cap movies. I don't like the idea of a Cap film directed by another if not for them.

Ever since dat kiss between Steve and Sharon, I have warmed up to Emily's character...hey, I wasn't keen on Scarlet as Natasha at first but she won me over thanks to TWS. Same here with Emily as Sharon in CW. So yeah. No hard feelings against Peggy and Hayley...I can understand that she moved on even though she loved Steve very much. If I had it any other way, I would have wanted her with Steve but sometimes...it doesn't work that way. It sucks...but at the same time, very heartbreaking knowing what kind of life they could have had with each other. Steve has a high chance with Sharon...and I think it's time that he moves on, accept that sometimes no matter how close you were to that person you once loved so deeply about, you can't hold on to that kind of love anymore. Otherwise, it'll just lead you down a depressing hole - a dark one that is and you don't want Steve to go there. He's better than that.

So do I. I feel the cold shoulder he gave her after he found out she was a SHIELD agent was because he had liked her and saw her as a potential love interest/girl friend and was upset at the possibility she was only friendly towards him as part of her job.
