With the way the movie set her up, her identity wasn't revealed, and she wasn't given much characterization, I don't think the crew of AoS could use her even if they wanted to.

Sharon Carter was barely in "TWS" without the likes of Iron man and Black Panther in it, and with the latter two involved, can we expect the same for her again?

Her best bet is to show up in Agents of SHIELD. Hopefully Revenge ends soon and Emily Van Camp can cross over to AOS instead. There she can have more character development.

Well, I guess if you cut out Maria Hill and don't include Fury too much, it is possible to beef up her role.

Agree with everything BullMcGiveny. Sharon in Winter Soldier does not inspire confidence for her civil war role.

What writing? People on here were freaking out and arguing that there was no way Bucky or Falcon would be coming back because Black Panther and Iron Man clearly stole their spots and lo and behold that turned out to be ******** too.

People are now doing the same sky falling routine and claiming Scarjo returning means no Sharon.

No one was freaking out about Sam or Bucky not returning, they were freaking out over them getting smaller roles than expected.

And sure, theoretically, Sharon might return. Its just that with Natasha back, there's no way she's gonna be female lead or a main character.

And practically, if she isn't going to be a main character, she likely isn't going to be a love interest. And if she isn't going to be the love interest, they're likely not going to see need for her and might very well drop her.

If anything, Sharon will just likely be here to be Liaison/representation for the Government side of things due to her being in the CIA now, along with being the obligatory kissing partner for Cap in this film.

If needing more time with her family was a pressing issue (unlike it seems to be for say Hemsworth) then Scarlett wouldn't sign on to do Hail Ceaser, Ghost In The Shell etc.

So, she gets captured and Steve and his new team just leave her there for the rest of the story? Great friends and teamwork. I could see her having an in and out smaller role for story concerns (or maybe even contractual issues - $$$) but that's a dubious scenario. But with the Russos specifically mentioning her as being back along with RDJ joining, my guess is it would be a bit more substantial role.

I think they missed their chance for truly incorporating Sharon into Steve's world. Even her small intro into TWS was very late in the game and with AOU and Civil War happening so soon after and with all the other relationships Steve has built over several films (Bucky, Peggy, Nat, Tony, Sam, Fury, Hill etc) anything with Sharon is going to seem perfunctory especially if the movie end the way it's rumored to. But she was positioned to be with the CIA at the end of TWS and that was one of the added on scenes after they read the AOU script and decided to do CW so I do think she'll be used.

If Widow does get imprisoned maybe it is by the Government for the crimes mentioned at the Congressional hearing at the end of TWS? That information becoming public plus her ties to the wreckage caused by Ultron might lead to her imprisonment. Plus we don't know if she will even be friends with Cap at the end of Age of Ultron, so he might be happy to leave her there.

If she gets a story like this then there may be hope for Sharon to get the lead female role. But they didn't invest in Sharons character the way they did for Falcon and Rumlow so her future in Cap 3 is questionable.

I watched a bit of Revenge, and quite frankly I like VanCamp more as a result. I really hope Marvel and the Russo Bros. have something big in store for Sharon Carter, and I also hope all the attention paid to her aunt Peggy will rub off on Sharon as well.

The Russos were in China last week and during an interview said that Scarlett is back for Civil War. They specifically mentioned her Winter Soldier (didn't use Stan's name) and RDJ and of course Evans.

I'm sorry for Carter fans in that I think her role was sacrificed in TWS for BW so that there really was no relationship build up into CA3 and with all that will be going on I'm not confident there's time or room to establish anything more than friends or work colleagues.

Moreover, with all the talent they have involved are Feige and The Russos really going to give EVC a significant amount of screen time when they also have Scarlett, Hayley, RDJ, Chad, Mackie, Stan and maybe Renner etc...

Watch Agent Carter and Revenge back to back and the difference in lead actress quality is too enormous to ignore. I can't see the lead actress in the CA films going from Atwell to Scarlett to EVC.
