Wouldn't it be fun to set up the imperial guard and then have them turn up in an x-men sequel? Marvel do love their silver age stuff.

Anyone want to try casting them?

I don't know the characters very well, so I'm just goin to cheat.

    Gladiator - Tom Welling/Brandon Routh/Henry Cavill/Tyler Hoechlin
    Oracle - Alexz Johnson/Amy Jackson
    Electron - Ryan Kennedy
Mentor - James Marsters (I know he was in Runaways)/Jesse Rath
Flash Fire - Calum Worthy (I know he's gonna be Speedball)

I could see John cena gunning for gladiator but I don’t know. Oh an ageing Arnold Schwarzenegger might be fun especially if they go for the annihilation route.

Lucy Liu would be a fun lilandra

It would be fun to show the shi’ar next, now that they’ve introduced the kree and introducing the skrulls. That’s the three biggest empires in the marvel u I reckon!

Who’s crazy enough to play a good deathbird? Oh you know who would be fun? Renee zelwegger in full Chicago mode

I would love them to see them in due course. I really hope all these races get well established in the MCU. Deathbird would be great. Maybe these guys would be best introduced in an X-Men film. Either way not sure how it would work out but Zellwegger could be really fun.

That would be fun. I could see him doing the honourable warrior thing and it’s a great way to set up annihilation

Whittle? American Gods, primarily. He was quite good in that. He was also in The 100, which I haven’t seen but I’ve heard it’s good too.

It’s such a shame Bea Arthur has passed away. It would be so much fun to see Lilandra with that level of gravitas

I've wondered where the best fit for the Starjammers would be. Back when Fox was looking for different movies to spin off, I was arguing the Starjammers could be a great X-version of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Now that they've merged together, I can see the appeal of putting them in Guardians of the Galaxy. Honestly, I would suggest Captain Marvel 2. Have her encounter the Shi'ar maybe right after re-settling the Skrulls. Since my idea for an X-Men film is to make Cyclops the main character, it would also lay the seeds for Corsair as his father in a future series. I just wish Fox didn't do Dark Phoenix twice because the next logical follow up would be to do it traditionally. There's also room for the Brood Saga, though.

Sorry this doesn't really answer the question, though. My guess for Gladiator would be an attempt to get the next wrestler turned actor or something like that. He needs to have a physicality, but he doesn't need to deliver much in the way of dialogue.

I think it is easier to just have an actor get in shape, rather than pick a wrestler. There can be more to gladiator than just his look.
He has had some good development. The war/realm of kings was good. He also has an interesting father son dynamic that can be used way down the line.
There are many things they can do with him.

I guess they can always CGI him like Thanos. I mean he should be imposing to reflect super strong leadership
