Short video about Avatars

Not sure what to make of the avatars. They seem too "Wii-ish" to me. Who knows tho, maybe theyll be fun to customize.

The Avatars are definately very "Wii-ish". For me that is rarely a good thing, but you know what?

**** it. I'm a sucker for customizable things in games. :)

Yea thats usually how i am, but just watching that video kind turned me off to the whole idea. I mean even the little sounds had a very "wii-ish" chime to em. As long as i can create a bald dude, with a suit and red tie, ill be happy tho.

The Mii's are not very customizable. I'm amazed how people can get any creativity out of them. I have no problems with these Avatars, and I'm glad they will continue to be updated, and even more excited for the achievement unlockables.

I think thats the objective that MS is going for. Their E3 conference made it apparent that they are aiming at appealing to the Wii userbase

I'm not sure what to make of these...they do seem "Wii-ish." I don't see how Microsoft couldn't have done something a little different with their avatars, to seperate them from their Wii counterparts.

It would be nice if they could be fully customizable with outfits from Xbox exclusive games. Like a Master Chief armour for your avvy, or a Gears outfit..stuff like that.:o

It's been basically confirmed that some games will give you unlockable clothes as a reward for getting achievements.

It's a helluva lot better then the Miis, but too be honest, I'll probably dick around with it for a couple of days before I lose interest. Things like this have a shelf life of fun for me. Though if that 1 Vs. 100 game turns out to be fun, that could extend it a bit more.

Which is why i think the Wii has ruined it for everyone. Because they've been so popular, everyone is gonna want to start catering to this "casual" crowd.

^Precisely. Unfortunately you've really been able to see Nintendo's influence in the industry over the last year or so. "Hardcore" games aren't dead, and I don't think they will fully die out, but it seems challenging games that provide true innovation are becoming too few and far between these days. And I think it will only get worse as time goes on. (At least until "casual" gamers get a taste for big boy games. :oldrazz:)

The more success Nintendo has, the worse off enthusiast gamers will be.
