I was thinking, the first thing that comes to people's minds when they think of shrinking is fighting giant bugs. Its in almost every movie where the character shrinks, the Incredible Shrinking Man, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Lord of the Rings, etc. So, do you think they should show Hank Pym fighting a giant thing like a Spider or a scorpion or a bug?
Personally I almost think its too cliché, but I am also biased because I have a friend who couldn't watch that part of Lord of the Rings.
Also what about swarms of bugs? Should they show swarms of ants? Or ants swarming all over a guy? I know its Hank's thing, but my friend also doesn't like swarms. Just wondering.

I think it would be a stupid move, it would make him look somewhat pathetic.

I think they should do it as a joke. Have Ant-Man be small & then a "giant" spider makes a grand entrance, only for Ant-Man to grow back to normal size & stomp on it.

I say yes only if they're paying homage to Honey I Shrunk the Kids, but other than that, I don't really wanna see him fighting bugs.

Yeah, I think it would be a great comedic sequence, but leave it at that, imho.

I think Ant-Man should fight a giant, mutated beetle that plans to conquer humanity.

I like the idea of the giant spider, but only if they have a cameo of Clint Eastwood as a fighter pilot firing missiles at it...oh wait, that's been done...

Did anyone else notice that all of those ants have hands?!? Back when I was a kid I used to play with ants and none of them had digits on their extremities. Ant-Man's ants are green, though, so it's safe to assume that they're gamma-irradiated mutant ants. That would explain the hands.

Fighting bugs? nah. Maybe a suspense sequence before he learns he can communicate with them through the helmet, but that would be all I'd care to see. Swarms of ants crawling all over people though? Hell yes.

That's a great idea. Subvert the trope.

I'm hoping Lang is in Avengers 3 and Stark makes fun of him by suggesting his power is to get smaller and weaker. Lang responds my turning into Giant Man and growing really tall.

that would kind of give Stark's criticism credibility and make him look insecure. i would expect him to grow to giant-size for the final battle or last minute save; at least. but i'd also be cool with him just shrinking and throwing Stark across the room, at that size; a la the Atom and Guy Gardner.

I could see that. Maybe make it a running gag where Stark makes fun of him for shrinking and then have him grow at the end? I don't know. I'm sure they could figure it out. I think the important thing is having him in it at all, which I don't know is guaranteed.

it'd be a cardinal sin to not have him ride an arrow like a roller coaster ride, at some point.

With his regular strength although shrunk, if a "giant" spider attacks him, the next scene should be this spider flying through the air after he flicked it away.
