Should Dick Cheney Resign?

Really, Should has nothing to do with it. I mean what politician actually does what they should do?

Not sure/Not yet. He is innocent until proven guilty afterall, right?

Meh, he has two years left, how much damage can he cause. *scary*

the same could be said for clinton and his impeachment. i have a feeling that cheney holds a majority of the responsibility for bush's failed policies over the years. if they find that he initiated this whole thing then i'm hoping he'll be forced to resign. then, maybe, bush will start listening to reason instead of being led around by his nose by cheney.

I hope the whole thing leads right back to him and implicates him beyond a shadow of a doubt.

I'd say Cheney is probably the voice of reason in the administration. Cheney isn't the yes-man everyone seems to think. Those would be Rumsfeld, Gonzalez, Ashcroft, and Condi. Cheny is part of the old Bush's innercircle. He is probably there to keep Bush from doing anything too crazy. Much like Powell was, only as Vice-President he could not be so vocal about it. I honestly wouldn't be suprised if Cheney opposed the Iraq invasion. Bush Sr. did not invade Baghdad and Cheney was very vocal about the reasons why (Religious civil war, inability to maintain stability...he actually predicted much of what is happening today). Cheney is most likely the voice of reason of the administration, not the evil overlord.

you're joking, right? the guy is notoriously secretive and paranoid and it's well documented that he's responsible for expanding the power the president holds to the dangerous levels it's reached under bush. plus, have you heard the **** he's been talking about ignoring congress and the american voters and doing whatever he and bush please? that dude is arrogant and dangerous.

Yes, that is his image as of 2001 and beyond. Most of his ideas during this Bush's administration do not fit with the rest of his 40 year career. Granted, he is unlikable but if anything the Bush P.R. machine probably deflects a lot of the bad press on him intentionally. He has created a persona of being the "bad guy". Sort of the good cop/bad cop of the administration.

i'm willing to believe that reputation due to the way he presents himself in interviews and everything i've read about his history and personality.

Everything prior to 2001 is the exact opposite.

Why not both Bush and Cheney resign?

yeah I know it's too much to ask for.

I don't see it that way. I think they are viewed as Bush=evil ******, and Cheney=evil braniac.

Cheney had the opportunity to take out Saddam in 1991. He didn't. He was one of the most staunch opponents of the idea. Why would he suddenly change? I don't buy for a second that Cheney is happy with where this administration went. Not to mention that Cheney is a staunch fiscal conservative. His ideals don't match up with this administration. To call him the mastermind of it is ridiculous.

No. Extremist liberals are just as bad as Neo-cons.

Oh no he's a secular extrimist, who's extremely tolerant and accepting of diverse cultures and life styles. They extremely believe in democracy, and they extremely oppose killing people. They also extremely oppose poverty and global warming.

That's gotta be just as bad as screwing up the world.

You know Clinton made verybody think he was a moderate, but he's not. In fact he was planning on a whole bunch of liberal policies untill republicans took the house. Clinton is a liberal at heart, and he did a pretty good job.

Martin Luther king anybody? Another liberal extremist. Are you going to compare him to Bush, just because he's extremist? His liberal views helped this country a lot! More than every conservative put together actually.

You're mixing up being a liberal with being a progressive. There are several conservative progressives.
