I remember when Marvel first started making movies. When the trailer for X-men or Spider-man would come on, the crowd would cheer at the end or gasp when it would begin. I was at the Movie theator recently and they showed the teaser for Spider-man three and someone in the crowd actually said "Oh good, another superhero movie." I am a huge Marvel fan I always go out to see the new marvel movies, but people who don't read the comics like me are beginning to get burned out. Would it be so bad if the took a break from the big screen and came out with a couple tv shows of comic we actually read like Spider-man and X-men?

Nope, Comic book films should stay, but I'd LOVE to see some GOOD TV series, a deadpool and cable show would be great with the right budget, a constantine show would work well also!

I would like to see them focus on the bigger names, with Blade being a dissapointment.

I think the massive characters/names work better on a bigger format, like film. Constantine would be the best series in my opinion, because not only is he one of my fav. characters, but there are limitless stories to think up for him! Someone like Thor wouldn't work too well as a series, same goes for Ironman and Cap, they're too big, they need feature length big budget stories to capture they're true nature! Imagine the CG on spiderman being down with a fraction of the budget? We'd get a second rate effect at best!

You make a lot of good points. A Thor tv show would be pretty bad. I don't know about SM though. The action could be mostly him fighting without the web swinging until the show catches on. Another option could be an animated ultimate SM tv show.

you lkose a lot of the audience with cartoon though, People wanna see the live action of the SM movies, I think the big names are more guarenteed profit, so the production companies can afford to make these properly, the lesser known ones would be good TV shows, and constanitne would be relatively cheap to produce, as he doesn't swing from buildings or summon lightning, I know a lot about costs and stuff of filming(as it's my job), so the demand of SM and X-men dictate it's movie, wheras lesser known names could be TV, them bumped upto movie if sucessful!

Cable & Deadpool would make a good show.

Definately keep making movies.

I'm getting pretty burned out on Marvel movies, myself. I'd love for them to try to develop more TV shows. Daredevil would make for a fantastic serial.
Same that Blade got cancelled. I liked that show. A lot. :csad:

Superhero movies are pretty big nowadays. It'd be stupid if one of the main comic book making industries didn't be a part of it. But they do need to kinda slow down. I'd rather see one spectacular movie, instead of two mediocre/bad movies.

I feel like Marvel is getting to goofy with there movies. I also feel like it seems like the last line of directors has been poor. I mean in the Ghost Rider Trailer they showed the goth girl where she's explaining GR... That to me seemed a little to light to be in a Ghost Rider movie which in my opinion should be dark and scary. Also I think marvel should amp up the ratings make some rated R movies. I hope that with the next line of movie we'll be getting from marvel will be taken more seriously (cloak and Dagger, Doctor Strange, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Panther.)

Keep them coming; just don't churn them out like you're running a factory. Focus more on the quality of your film & less on an arbitrary release date. As they've proven in the past, (Spider-Man 2) release dates are not set in stone nor should they be.

marvel needs to make a tv show like dc did with superman, smallville is doing very well, if marvel makes something like dc did with smallville that would be great

1-DC has never made a TV show; Warner did.
2-what MAJOR Marvel character could be done a la Smallville?
3-even if they could, I don't want Marvel copying what Warner has done.

Moon Knight would be a tough sell, I think.

He looks like a klan member for starters!!:woot:

But I'd love to see another Marvel series, as I think Blade got better over the course of the season, and I think it sucks that it got cancelled. I'd think if anything, an X-Men series with the original five as teenagers could work. The problem is, television and film versions of the X-Men have put too much emphasis on Wolverine for anyone to care about the original five. Not to mention effects for Iceman, Angel, and Beast might break the bank. Maybe a a "New Mutants" style show.

If anything, I'd do Runaways (DAMN the CW for having a show called "Runaway"!!). No costumes, no real need for Marvel's heavy hitters, able to hit all the teen demographics with a vengeance!

The problem w/Runaways is the existence of both "Smallville" & "Heroes". Same goes for New Mutants. You're right about X-Men.
And Moon knight doesn't look THAT much like a Klansman.

I'd like to see them come out with a Punisher sequel before they take any sort of break, the first was a good movie imo but they just cant end it there, Frank Castle doesnt even officially become The Punisher till the end of the film...But i have no problem with marvel continuing to make movies either.

A Runaways show would be really cool, but I cant see them on the big screen.

Marvel shouldnt stop. What they have to do is slow down and produce movies more intelligently rather than passing put properties like they were dealing poker.

2 movies came out in 2005, and just 1 this year. Isn't this already a "break"?

how about iron fist the series?

That depends on your point of view. But at any time since 1998, there has been a Marvel film either in production and/or in theaters.
