Supergirl Should Supergirl Get The Lanterns In Season 2?

Apart from the occasional easter egg thrown in from Arrow & Flash there has been no indication that Green Lantern is coming anytime soon.

If he did I really would have liked to see him feature on the Flash. In the comics I would say these two have some of the best chemistry of any team up so I feel like Flash really has missed a trick.

But since neither CW show seems to be using GL I think Supergirl could be an excellent place to utilize some of GL's awesome rogues.

Having them escape from Fort Rozz or come to Earth for some other reason and having her learn how to deal with new threats who use different ends of the emotional spectrum.

Well, in theory, they could work here. The show focuses on aliens, and "space police" would certainly fit. The main problem is whether they actually can get the approval to use the GL property. I remain fairly certain that Arrow/Flash actually did intend to use Hal Jordan and Green Lantern, but they got embargoed. It would depend on whether said embargo was because of the movies, or because of Supergirl.

People really are reading far more into a specific set of restrictions than is warranted, especially since we know unequivocally that we're in an entirely different era than we used to be with regards to character-usage rights.

Regarding the question at hand, I really don't think the Green Lantern Corps are needed, but wouldn't mind seeing the series explore the Red!Lantern!Supergirl storyline.

Yes there is, they won't let the character appear on Flash or Arrow because they don't want anyone else using them in live action.

YES I CAN the reasons are because of a new movie, they aren't gonna let Supergirl have them. Supergirl might have acces to Superman's rogues, characters etc but she isn't gonna have fights to Green Lantern.

I think it could definitely happen. After all, look at all the surprises we've gotten with DCTV so far. Who would've expected this to crossover with Flash? And now that looks to possibly be happening

And who would've thought that we would get Martian Mnhunter on here?

We can't say we know for sure what way they will go though. Not anymore, with all the DCTV surprises we have gotten already

Things change though. We already have Flash in movies and TV, I wouldn't count the Green Lanterns out just yet. Especially if this tv universe lasts a while

If Green Lantern is allowed on TV I honestly think it would be trough Arrow and the Flash given how they've already teased him. But given their reason for not letting them use the character I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Hopefully it turns out they can even if it means just using a different Lantern as I imagine the movie DCU would take Hal.

Guy or John would be awesome.

Setting up Atrocious as season 2's big bad.

Actually, I could totally buy that happening, albeit not as the most likely scenario. It just relies on WB being capricious with their rights assignments. If nothing else, CBS probably does have more pull than the CW.

we are likely never going to see the lanterns on the tv side of things. Like batman, and wonderwoman nods can be done, and what not or a wink wink thing to fans. But i seriously doubt we will see lanterns show up in the flesh in any of these dc shows. As it seems they want to refocus them with justice league and the solo gl film in the works.

The show could delve into Atrocitus and the RLC with only mentions of the GLC. Atrocitus had conflicts with the GotU, the Manhunters, and Sinestro, so the writers could circumvent Hal and company without too much of an issue.
