Stop treating the elderly like children. If they want to spend their final years of their lives tripping on acid and taking ecstacy who are we to tell them otherwise?

And while blind_fury is having threesomes with stoned seniors, you'll all be stuck with Grandpa Joe on his sleeping meds:cmad:

should anyone have recreational drugs?

I voted yes, which isn't surprising so I think everybody above 18 should be allowed to use recreational drugs, soft drugs that is.

lol. when I'm 80 I'll still be banging 19 year old supermodels while you're watching the wheel of fortune.

one of our fellow posters has died when he was all for living life- compared to these drug addicts who want to squander it and ruin their bodies. NO DRUGS ARE WORTH IT.

When you're 80, you'll hardly remember who you are.

Because complete and total freedom is an illusion. Things need limits. Drugs and the use of them, do too.

talk about something you actually have some knowledge on...SMOKING THE OCCASIONAL JOINT DOES NOT MAKE YOU AN ADDICT. People who waste their lives away on heroin etc, yes, but you need to understand that taking drugs doesn't automatically make you an addict. And yes someone has died recently but don't be so low as to use that to guilt the rest of us into supporting your point of view :cmad:

hard drugs are addictive and addiction means your no longer free to choose to use the drug or not.

having said that, once you turn 75 you should be allowed to use cocaine and recreational pain killers.

No. If drugs are to be legalized, it needs to be legalized right across the board.

All recreational drugs are addictive, not just hard ones. Some are merely more addictive than others.

How do you know drugs aren't worth it?

Thousands die in car accidents every month, does that mean cars aren't worth it?

his post smacks of someone who's never indulged but has read plenty of tabloid scare stories so feels he's qualified to throw in his recycled opinions :whatever:

Like most of the politicians who actually determine drug policy :(

Everything that feels good has the potentail to be mildly addictive.

What's the answer? Make everything that feels good illegal? :whatever:

I said that if you're going to legalize drugs, than they must be legalized right across the board and without limitations.

I think you misread my post. :o

Uhm... why, exactly? I see no qualms with dividing drugs into two categories (aka soft and hard) and only legalizing the soft drugs.

sorry :o

meant to quote 04nbod.

It's true though, I think it's just plain moronic that the people who determine our drug policy, do it by reading other people's opinions on the subject rather than through any kind of balanced experience/evidence :csad:

in no way am i trying to get you to accept my point of view but its whats going thorough my head right now. All drugs have effects even ciggarettes- legal-addictive, alcohol- legal-addictive. All receational ,all cause damage.

and blind fury- your right but i consider myself here for the long haul- you never know when you are going to go but i wanna be in good health so i can stick around even if that bus doesn't hit me:yay:

i dont even trust them driving and im sure i aint gonna allow them to take recreational drugs.

Because fundamentally, there's no reason why one drug should be legalized and another should not. The strength of a drug's consequences is almost irrelevant in principle. The only difference between drugs is that some take longer to have the same damage to the body as others.

They all damage the body the same.
