I think so. I think the characters could work together much more effectively considering the style and look of them. It could be one of the most amazing CGI films ever if done right. Very few Marvel characters I feel would be best portrayed in CGI and this is one of them.

Now when I say all CGI I'm also including whatever "tech" they used to incorporate Doug Jones into the Rise of the SS film. If they can make a whole film with characters that way...that would fall under all CGI.

Of course in a live action film there will be some CGI. That's obvious.

If you're going to make the main character of a movie cgi, then why not make the entire movie computer generated? No matter how good the CG is it's ultimately going to LOOK like CG, and feel very much like it doesn't belong. I'm fine with using CG for some supporting characters when it's needed (Golem) and even for the main character every once in a while in some places where a normal person just wouldn't be able to cut it (Spider-Man, Superman Returns) but NEVER EVER am I okay with a completely CG main character in any movie, unless the movie itself is animated. Even if a character might not be as big as ideal or anything like that, it's ultimately better to use live action because the character will actually be real, I mean it's actually there in the real world, with CG it always looks like it doesn't belong.

Can you even imagine being a director shooting a movie like that? for each scene you would just be shooting an empty room. BOOORING.

If they really go all out and make a really wild Silver Surfer film and include all of these cosmic characters I'd think the CGI best suited. That's just me but imagine all the Heralds, Galactus, Thanos, maybe Adam Warlock, etc...It would have to be photorealistic at the same time though. I'm not talking Shrek CGI.

The problem is; Photo-realistic CG doesn't exist, that's not to say that no one's has come close, they have, but at a cost to realistic, fluid movement.

^ Well as close as you can get. I think it does exist though. I've seen some amazing CGI. Look at King Kong. It can be done. Cameron's working on it as well now.

I figured in a SS movie most of the film would be in space or in truly alienexotic locations.

CGI is still not as good as live motion, the physics and formulaes still are not up to scratch.

CGI in a film should only be used when absolutely necessary, that is not going to change anytime soon I think so I would say no to full CGI.

I am waiting to see the full FF2 movie but I think Weta's approach using Doug for a base and enhancing that is the way to go.

Some characters could be cg, but it still should be a live action film.

No...I want an actual space epic on screen, not cars in space. The live action movie would look far better (especially if WETA does the effects for it).

I think a mix of cgi, live-action, and cartoon scenes would create a trippy, epic space film which really takes us out of our element and hurls us across the cosmos.

If their goal is to go all out fantasy as your suggesting, then hells yes. Otherwise, I think a live-action film can hold much promise. But execution, execution, execution has to be spot on.

I envision the Surfer's beautiful homeworld of Zenn La to be similar to the Roman eras of indulgence; a society at its peek yet rife with corruption and decadence. How fitting that the world eater shows up to punish and destroy this unearthly Sodom and Gamorrah. Perhaps, it may even play into Galactus's decision to destroy the planet and it's inhabitants as he does serve a higher purpose in the universe.

Young, noble and passive astronomer, artist, etc. Norrin Radd sacrifices himself and the love between him and his mate to save his world. In the deal, he is given the great gift of the Power Cosmic to wander and explore the stars as he has fancied since a child.

The tragedy being the great lost and sacrifice the noble Surfer makes, and the new burden of being a pariah to the ender of worlds.

A Silver Surfer movie would have to be CG because, What's there to photograph? Yes, the characters should look photo-real, and they should use real actors like Doug Jones to create a performance for the characters, but by the time the film is done every cubic millimeter of the screen would have to be soaked in computerized renderings.

Yeah, I think Silver Surfer movie should definitely be CGI. Not all, but 'mostly'. I'd like some live actors in the film, mixed with CGI. Maybe they can use the 300/ Sin City technique
