Resident evil 5 is going to be on both xbox 360 and ps3 in 2009. I would like the wii to get some re love in this period. I am suregesting a resident evil 2 revamp in the style of resident evil 4 or just an update like they did with re1 and i want to know your thoughts. I beleive this to be one of if not the best game in the franchise and would like to have it with motion control.

I would. My friend (actually, I think the only one of my friends besides myself to play RE before 4 came out) thinks it's the scariest RE. I can definitely see why. It'd be cool.

if they use the re4 engen they even have the leon model and ada (from battle mode) already made

Yes, they should do it just like they did REmake, shot for shot from the original, with some new elements and subplots thrown in. I like RE4, but it's style just wouldn't mesh well with the old games, I dont think.

I'm sure there will be and there going to do another one. Especially cause it's the Wii.

I think Capcom has already expressed interest in remaking the first three Resident Evils in the style of Resident Evil 4, if Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition and the Umbrella Chronicles do well

They have yes. And RE0 is coming out for Wii in Japan, but it's just a port, not a remake...

But you really can't just port RE2 as it is. They did that on the Gamecube and look at how that turned out.

I hope they don't tarnish RE2 with the style of RE4.

I hated that game.

RE4 was incredible. I can't wait for RE5, they'd better port that to the Wii, too, since afaik it's only coming out for the 360 and the PS3 so far.

I would love to see a remake of Resident Evil 2, since it's so weird to go back and play the original now, especially after playing RE4.

RE4 is split in half, some love it...some hate it.

I hated it, the camera was horrid, Las Plagas was stupid (IMHO) and the whole damn game was just an escort mission. It didn't feel like an RE game to me, it felt like Crazy Spanish Island.

Annoying.

I tend to think RE4 is the most fun to play and has the most exciting gameplay dynamics -- but hte creepiest game in the series and the one with teh best setting and story, RE2 easily.

I'm not sure I want a remake, though. If they make the controls like the N64 version (where you had free control over the character with an analog stick and didn't do those super slow turns and operating, if you know what I mean).

P.S.

My ranking

1. RE4
2. RE2
3. RE1

Didn't care for 3 or Code Veronica and haven't played Zero.

My ranking
1. RE2
2. RE-remake
3. RE CV
4. RE4
5. RE3

On topic, I'd be happy with an RE2 remake in the vein of the RE1 remake, or in the style of RE4

1. REmake
2. RE2
3. RE4
4. RE3
5. RE Zero
6. RE CV
7. Umbrella Chronicles
8. All those crappy games they made, like Survivor and Outbreak

THAT is the RIGHT list :cmad:

I concur.

The right list doesn't have RE3 above CV. Storywise, RE3 added next to nothing and is more of a sidestory than Code Veronica, which in my eyes, is the true numerical 3rd entry. However I believe the mechanics of RE3 were the best of the old RE style of tank gameplay.

My list:

REmake/RE1
RE2
RE4
RECVX
Outbreak 1 & 2 [Online]
RE0
RE3
Outbreak 1 & 2
Umbrella Chronicles
Dead Aim
Survivor 2: CV
Survivor
