There's no reason why they should run out of good stories to tell. Once again, Batman & Robin wasn't the result of a franchise being taken too far. Neither was Superman IV. It was the result of taking it in the wrong direction.

Yes! If they plan to make more it has to tie in with the stories very well. You need to keep an interested eye for the fans. Otherwise they will just say this sucks and not watch it. Then you're screwed!
