Should they make another Punisher movie? - Part 2

I always thought the same about him coming to Hershey. That friggin' Hershey Kiss character at Hershey Park has been asking for it for years.

Yeah, but a Punisher movie set in Hershey would be filmed in Mexico.

im glad this thread is back, i missed coming to hype and not having anything Punisher related to talk about.

anyway considering that Batman is DC's darkest property right now, if handled right with a the right director who understands the character and a script that does Frank's story justice, is it possible that The Punisher could be Marvel's TDK? or is Daredevil the only character who can possibly go toe to toe with that franchise?

Considering I live in Hershey and I happen to work for Hershey, I don't commute to Mexico. We still have the Reese's plant which makes Reese's cups and Kit-Kat's. We still have the West plant which makes the Hershey Bar, Hershey with almonds, Kisses and York Peppermint patty along with the small bars. The original East plant is shutting down and the majority of equipment is being sent to Mexico and the West plant.
We do have a plant in Mexico which supplies Mexico with chocolate. We have plants in Dubai, Shanghai, Tokyo, Philippines, India and Canada and it supplies candy for them. The Chinese green tea kisses are banging.

The Punisher would be bored in Hershey. Very little crime.

Well besides Daredevil there's Moon Knight, The Shroud, Iron Fist. Marvel can use a variety of characters save for DD who's still with Fox. In all honesty, I wish Disney would just buy the rest of the out of reach properties but they already spent four billion. Although you would think Ghost Rider, Daredevil, Elektra, and Fantastic Four wouldn't be that costly to buy back.

However, the punisher doesn't need to be Marvel's Dark Knight series. Punisher and Batman are too different characters and that can easily be shown. Frank isn't doing this for revenge, he's just soldier that woke up and found the right war to fight. Plus Marvel VP said if Marvel spends money on a film they want it to be a "phase film" and that isn't Punisher. Unless, they make punny PG-13 and make him fit into the "big picture" somehow.

I'd love a properly constructed R-rated Punisher film with Mr. Jane.. but right now I only see Marvel pursuing more "commercial" pg-13 based theatrical projects.. meanwhile they keep trying to spin Frank off into a TV show.. but Fox passed.. we'll see if a premium cable channel might be interested in a Sopranos style Punisher show starring Mr. Jane..

I could see The Punisher being a PG-13 film and still being a good. It doesn't need to be R. PG-13 films seem to really push the boundries nowadays.

Depends what kind of Punisher film it is, I suppose. Many have different opinions about what would be the "best" Punisher film.

Yeah, the upsides to R is that there is alot of freedom but also a limit to general audiences. I want a good Punisher film but I also want one that will do well. I'm not sure how well the past two films did.

If you make it R but not R with ridiculous blood and gore like Warzone I think the film would do better

I would love to see an AMC punisher. Drama, Noir, Violence, the whole nine, with Thomas Jane.

AMC or HBO.
Dirty Laundry was perfect. I also wouldn't mind if Shield agents were a part of the plot(in suits of course or tactical teams), and Samuel Jackson doing a cameo.

For the longest time I've wanted Dolph Lundgren's Punisher re-made with the same story but of course with a bigger budget and scope.

I really think that with the right director who grasps the material well the Punisher could be Dark Knight like type movie heck im really suprised that Marvel hasnt moved forward with a movie it could be made on a fairly small budget. I would prefer a movie but there is a lot of you could do with a tv show.

I feel like the only person who loved Punisher War Zone far more than the Thomas Jane one.

I don't love War Zone, but I really like it, and it doesn't feel like a failure or missed opportunity at all to me. I don't think there should be another movie any time soon, though; I'd rather the next live action incarnation be on a TV show.

I love War Zone, too, but I also understand that it has a lot of faults. Ergo, I totally understand why the majority probably didn't like it.

I don't hate War Zone, but I don't love it either. It hit a lot right. Unfortunately, there was a lot more wrong than they got right.

I'd watch this as a series on a channel like HBO or Showtime. This is exactly how Punisher should be. More, please.

Punisher on HBO with stories based on the Max series would be terrific.

death sentence is a better punisher movie than the 3 punisher movies lol

We don't need the Incredible Psychopath Man. Go with the classic Miller/Dixon version, where he's a greek tragic hero, not a serial killer on the rampage.

There;s certainly a very good Punisher movie waiting to be made, it just needs to find its Chris Nolan that has a really great vision of it, that can get the right people on the job. I dont think any movie version of the Punisher has got it right yet.
