Should they make another Punisher movie?

Well, Greengrass has let up on the shaky cam stuff recently. While he's a great director, I don't see him doing a Punisher movie. Ideally Walter Hill is the man for the job, he even almost got the gig back when Jane was working on the sequel to his film.

Like I've mentioned, Marvel isn't going to be going for A list directors like Mann, Cronenberg, Greengrass etc... The next movie will be just as cheap as the other ones.

Oh yes he has... I havent watched Green Zone, but his movies always seemed pretty dull to me...

I think Marvel will put some buck into Punisher... not as much as maybe Iron Man, but still... it one of their major characters

Mann would make a good Punisher movie. The "underground" tone is there, if that makes any sense

Not really, a Punisher movie would/will end up being one of the smaller budgeted ones - between $20-$40 million. They've been burned with the character 3 times already, so they're gonna be cautious. And If it's R than expect the price tag to be on the lower end of things.

Mann would make a good film, but he won't.

Whever that director was who did The Tournament would do a great job, and do it on a small budget. Hyams who directed Universal Soldier Regeneration could also work.

Get John Woo to direct The Punisher, Woo needs to get back to his The Killer and Hard Boiled roots. He can give brutally awesome violence full of many bodycounts/shootouts that is presented dramatically without being cartoony gore. He can also be very good at revenge/crime type storylines and there was a murderous hitman in The Killer, he tried to portray the hitman very humanly. I know his films after Face/Off sucked but with The Punisher, he could definitely go to the style of his early films.

He needs to get back to his Hong Kong roots and purge himself of Hollywood.

Not another Punisher movie. A HBO, Showtime or Starz TV series will suffice, though.

actually, an HBO series could be pretty good. if they do another movie... maybe Tom Hardy as Castle and Robert Rodriguez helming and co-writing with Paul Greengrass and Paul Dini?

A TV could done well because HBO and Showtime are much more reliable than non-premium cable and local networks.

If Kicka ss can be made for under 50M, I bet Marvel can do a brillant Punisher movie for that amount

I'd be ok with a tv show but it would need to be Sopranos/Wire quality, not some crappy network program or cheesy super low budget cable show.

i think i posted up my casting decisions and their pics a couple of pages back...

but my choices would be Jon Hamm, Thomas Jane, Dominic Purcell.

Hmm... Jon Hamm doesnt look the part... but thats just me.

Dominic Purcell is a good choice

i think Hamm does, beef him up and put a trench coat and he reminds me of the MAX punisher.

i agree

at least he has the stature and look down...and i think gaining muscle mass wouldnt be too hard.
