Should this just be a Teen Titans movie instead? Cyborg seems like a good supporting character who can work well in a group setting, where he has a lot of other characters to play off, but I'm not sure he is interesting enough to carry a movie on his own. His best stories seem to be in the Teen Titans comics , so it seems to make more sense to use him that setting then trying to put him in a solo movie. I don't mind if he is the main character in a Teen Titans movie, but I do think he needs other heroes to play off of and it seems like most of his villains and supporting cast comes from the Teen Titan.

No. Cyborg can stand on his own. What he needs is a worthy opponent like Amanda Waller and Deathstroke by proxy.

Does Cyborg have any great villains of his own? How many great solo Cyborg stories have there been, rather then great stories where Cyborg is part of a team?

Enemy of the State (which is why I said Amanda Waller) and Unplugged have been decent.

Whoever takes Cyborg has a chance to really make the movie there own. If They really don't intend on ever doing a Titans movie you could always co opt Deathstroke into being Cyborg's big villain. Deathstroke tends to fight both the Titans and Batman, and Batman already has a very big rooster of enemies to be shown in movies.

If you're an adult on the Justice League would you really join q group called the Teen Titans? :p

Does he have any villains of his own, or does he have borrow other people's villains, like Waller or Deathstroke?

This kinda feeds into my point that Cyborg doesn't have a strong enough solo mythos to carry a movie, if he constantly has to borrow other people's villains. Does he have a big supporting cast when he doesn't have other heroes to play off?

Giving Cyborg a movie is like giving Nightcrawler a movie, I like Nightcrawler, he is a fine character, but his mythos is not strong enough to carry a movie.

By being a founding member that automatically means he deserves a solo film as everyone else is getting one, whether he has to appropriate some b or c list villain or an a-list villain all that matters is that it is done well. Also Waller and Deathstroke are not villains tied down to one person they are general villains to all villains so there is not stealing going on there, plus he could easily gain villains in that time through his solo series.

Cyborg is great precisely because he is a blank slate. And Wraith is right. The Wall and Deathstroke the Professional are DC villains/anti-heroes. They don't belong to anyone but themselves and can be the villains of any of our heroes' stories or heroes of they're own. It was smart of DC to bring in Waller this early. Characters that straddle the fence are the most fascinating and most versatile.

On top of this Cyborg can be an original story borrowing from different media. Like this.

Whatever DC decides to do I'm glad that it's going to be a solo. Vic is one of the most powerful heroes of the DC universe and severely outclasses the Titans except for maybe Kid Flash.

You could make the argument that why shouldn't Raven or Starfire get a solo film instead, because they were important team members too and would create more movies based on female characters, I am not sure any one Titans has enough mythos to carry an entire film alone.

Its really hard to make villains who can be anyone's villain seem like compelling bad guys, because hard to have compelling nemesis with a villain who just seems to be visiting, rather then anything else. It seems Deathstroke or Waller more compelling stories would be else where, because there seems to be little interest in making them compelling Cyborg villains, rather then keeping Waller in the Suicide Squad movies and having Deathstroke either be an Arrow or Teen Titans team villain.

I'm not just talking about villains, besides his father and other heroes, I am not sure what supporting characters he has either.

Supporting cast: Silas Stone, Elinore Stone (A.I.), Sarah Charles, Sarah Simms, T. O. Morrow, Dr. Magnus and the Metal Men.

What other excuses are you going to come up with to not give Cyborg a solo movie?

The fact that he's a lesser known character makes him perfect for an inventive creative team. There's so many cool things you could actually do with a character like this in this day and age. Visually you can have something as cool as Terminator/Transformer. And if they start to play with the virtual reality element we could get some Tron/Matrix action too. Something in the same vein as Ghost in the Shell.

That being said I would love to see I would love to see a Teen Titans movie, but lets set it up. Maybe Cyborg 2 could be a soft launch of the Teen Titans and have them co star.

I'm not a fan of Cyborg being one of the seven. I would have loved if they just had 6. That's already a lot of characters to center on.
I'm biased because I work in front of a computer all day. I'm a bit anti- technology( as I type on the web ha). I just don't find the human computer aspect very interesting.

Cyborg admittedly has few of his own villains

Here's basically all of them

Cyborg-7.jpg

Evil/female version of Cyborg works for some generic terrorist organization

3524021-grid.jpg

Originally an AI that managed all of Cyborg's machine parts, but grew resentful and desired full control

CYBORG-1-pg.-2.jpg

Technosapiens, people infected by a Cyborg parasite like Borg

I'd Agree People like T.O Morrow or Dr Ivo are lower tier JL villains that could be switched to being villains for a Cyborg solo.

Also they're known for specializing in robot/AI technology so they'd fit.

Maybe a nerfed version of Amazo

Or Red Tornado controlled by Morrow, and have an arc where he breaks free of control with help by Cyborg

Brother Blood is the only Cyborg villain I know of, so I'd just focus on making one really good movie and move on.

Definitely not. Cyborg solo film has a lot of potential for something different and interesting, as evidenced by his more recent solo comics.

Perhaps they could take a page from the recent run in the comics where he has to save an alt timeline that's been taken over by the Technosapiens, and the only surviving heroes on this world are Raven, Robin, Beast Boy, and Starfire, heroes that this timeline's Victor sacrificed himself to save, his Teen Titans teammates (maybe in this timeline his accident happened at an earlier age) who've been living on the run for years (kinda like that group of X-Men at the start of DOFP).

A way you include the titans and still have Cyborg keep his JLA status/A List, is have Cyborg be the founder, team leader, and mentor to the Titans.

Kind of like Red Tornado did with Young Justice or Batman with the Outsiders.

You could bring in Beast Boy, Starfire, and Raven as his sort of new recruits he's training and they would be in awe of him since he's in the League

Doing that would distract from focusing on Cyborg, so if they are to bring them in the max amount they can bring in would be 2, and they're inclusion would have to be natural and it they'd have to ensure that Cyborg remains the main character that is being focused on; dealing with his issues his supporting cast (father, girlfriend, relatives) and his journey to accept and get used to his new state of being.

For me, Cyborg solo movie looks like box office flop.

The fact, that his design is lame as hell doesn't help either.

With the news of Nightwing getting a movie I DEFINITELY think this should be a Titans movie now.

Agreed, Cyborg will be seen in JL movie.. after that, make him the central character in Titans movie who assembles other members, and gets Nightwing to join his team. It would be much better idea to include Deathstroke in this too.

I kind of want both a titans movie and a cyborg solo preceeding it. whether or not this happens will hinge on if he's a stand-out character in JL. I think there's a good chance he will be, considering all the info we got after the JL set visits. the fact that his armor morphs, gets bigger, more heavily weaponized ect. he sounds like a powerhouse and a character audiences could love to bits.
