Someone sent death threats to a 5-year-old Disney star after her show featured lesbians

On January 26, the Disney Channel made a gentle stride into a more progressive era by featuring its first-ever same-sex couple on an episode of Good Luck Charlie, introducing two lesbian moms who bring their child over for a playdate, then show everyone they’re just like normal parents by not scissoring or establishing a golf pro shop in front of the kids. It was, as you might imagine, a controversial subject among those who spend their entire lives looking for things to be outraged about—such as One Million (Totally Not Gay) Moms, who sent out an urgent call for “conservative families” to raise their voices and decry Disney’s introducing these gay characters for one episode, right before they disappear forever, because Good Luck Charlie’s series finale is Feb. 16. Now police are investigating some voices who have been making death threats aimed at the show’s star, Mia Talerico. By the way, Mia Talerico is 5 years old.

TMZ first noted that Talerico began receiving death threats on her Instagram feed last month, right around the time the “controversy” broke. According to police reports, these included messages such as “Die Mia, ****ing die in hell! Kill yourself, you deserve to die.” That same suspect also reportedly sent a photo of Talerico’s head covered by a bloody fist and the message, “Yes, kill you stupid *****.” Again, Talerico is 5 years old, and the star of a Disney show about an adorable little girl that had lesbians on it one time.

According to CNN, the LAPD is investigating these threats, but will not officially disclose the nature of them (that TMZ has already pretty much disclosed), saying the investigation is “very sensitive.” Along those lines, no one is saying officially that they’re related to the uproar among conservative groups, who may have been so determined to protect the family they called for the head of a 5-year-old. And indeed, maybe the timing is all just a coincidence and there could be some alternate explanation, like maybe Talerico finally messed with the wrong loan shark. We suppose anything’s possible in a world where people send death threats to 5-year-olds.

how in the hell do these people actually walk with no functioning brain patterns

Some people just have nothing better to do, and look for anything to get mad about. Especially if it's really none of their business.

Really? Direct threats toward a 5 years old?

Is that serious or another exaggeration/misinterpretation/etc? I often see people confuse and exchange the confused versions of the news among themselves, if there is a threat it might be aimed at the writer(s) or someone else from the crew.
Maybe it's the word of someone saying something about life after death* being unpleasant for them, and this word is exchanged as a death threat.

*P.S: If you do not believe in it, you don't have to say it, or state it as if your word is true. Please consider how people misguidedly exchange the wrong word, that is the main point of what I said
Thank you very much

Yeah let's send the 5 yr old death threats because she's obviously the brain child behind this episode. She wrote, produced and directed the whole thing.

Internet anonymity...combined that with morons and this is what you'll get.

There are losers that enjoys these kinds of things. They may not really care about what the controversy about, but just posts disgusting comments like that for kicks.

So this show is where my niece learned the word, "Lesbian" from...we were trying to figure out where she heard it from when she said it in school on Friday.

Now that's classy, threatening a five year old girl.

Should send a letter back...that Goofy is actually a homosexual, and will sneak into his house and anally rape him during his sleep...with that signature laugh.

Has she learned the word 'freedom' yet?

Man people have no ****ing heart or brain.

GLC is probably the best Disney show on TV right now. It's showing change for the good. Then people go and threaten a 5 year old. Ugh

Aaaaand what I said about possible misinterpretation and such is lost

About a death-threat to a five-yr-old...or anyone for that matter? What softer, less offensive and more diplomatic message could have been misconstrued?

"I don't REALLY wish death upon anyone, just a simple lifetime (and/or more) of misery, suffering, and humiliation. Can't we all just be friends?"

No surprise. They're most likely empty threats by trolls who spend all day on the internet insulting people.

Why does a 5 year old have an instagram feed anyways?

We'll just going off that article, there's no misinterpretation. They mentioned the poor kid by name.

Also I would not be surprised if someone did this. Some people are ****ed.

while i agree with you that news can be seriously skewed by retellings but taken from the article

sent a photo of Talerico’s head covered by a bloody fist

they sent a photograph of the child actress's head with a bloody fist to her personal instagram account. kinda hard to misinterpret stuff like that

Anyone who feels comfortable with sending a five year old a death threat needs committed.

Oh come on...that's just harmless banter...even young kids these days know that, with their rap music and all.

:whatever:

Not that way

Fair point
With TMZ is involved, I won't release all my rage on it, just say not sure if it's a serious threat, a possibly demented publicity stunt, or rumor added to what could possibly be skewed

'The chance to tell our enemies...

That they may take our lives...

But they'll never take our...LEESSBIAANSS!

Rumor has it that 'freedom' was a last-minute rewrite....mainly because some countries (and even US States) would refuse to screen the movie if left alone.
