I was reading Stan Lee's autobiography (Exelsior! The Amazing Life of Stan Lee) and there was a part where he was talking about a Silver Surfer graphic novel he did with Jack Kirby. He called it a graphic novel but the way he worded it it sounded like he was talking about an actual novel with Jack Kirby drawings included. Does anyone have any idea what he's talking about?

If you do not have this, it is a must for any Surfer fan. This was done in the late '70's when Jack returned to Marvel, and was some of the best work from the twilight years of Kirby. Stan, Jack and Joe Sinnott back together again, it was Fantastic!

The book re-tells the Surfer coming to earth, but without the Fantastic Four - this is what a solo Surfer movie might have been like if he was not introduced in the F4 movie. The best thing about it is that the "orgin" is closer to what Jack had always wanted - none of that Zenn-La crap - the Surfer is created by Galactus out of comic energy!
