How To Lose Friends and Alienate People has bombed this weekend with $1,401,000!!!! Run Fatboy Run didn't do too well either.

Pegg is more bankable in the UK then the US. Do you think the reason he is not bankable is because people in the US just don't care for Pegg films?

I saw How to Lose Friends with my girlfriend on friday, it wasn't particularly good, but it wasn't bad enough for this kind of bomb. i don't know if it's pegg's fault that the flick didn't perform, more the marketing in my opinion.

He should have taken the offer QT made him, that way he would have had a sure hit on his hand and it would have mad him more familair with American audiences.

Bingo. And even though Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead did well in the States (I think) I don't even think the majority of people who saw those movies know Pegg by name.

He isnt bankable because the movie is ****, **** reviews and a **** story, nothing to doing with Simon as an actor, he has just made crappy film choices the last 2 years, maybe with him being in Star Trek it will pick up.

Run Fatboy Run had a limited release in the States and How to Lose Friends had pretty bad reviews (35% on RT). That said both are smaller movies and probably didn't cost much.

Ain't this just an estimate?... Anyhow, do we see Megan Fox naked in this film('How to Lose Friends And Alienate People'), because I just realized this film's rated R.

Here is what I think

-First off actors and actresses today are not Box Office draws no matter who you are, except for Will Smith who is Mr Box Office. People today know that actors and actresses they like will not make a movie better.

-People here in Ireland and the UK are more familiar with him and he's comedy style. Pegg still needs a massive blockbuster to get recognized by American audiences. Star Trek may do this for him.

-At the end of the day, How To Lose Friends and Alienate People and Run Fatboy Run were never hyped to begin with. Both movies never looked good to begin with so why bother with them.

I personally just never liked Pegg. I know who he is, mainly because I guess I'm a movie dork, but I just never really cared for him. Can't explain it or put my finger around it, but I just don't like him.
