Singer's open to directing another X-men film!

The first good, hopeful news we heard since seeing X3!!!

This is news? He's often said in interviews that he'd like to return if possible.

I don't know, I'd kind of rather him finish his work with the Superman film series, but if Warner Bros. does kick him out of the project, there's no better place for him to turn than 20th Century Fox and back to the X-Men.

No reason why he can't make more than one movie after another, it's not like he has to tie his soul to only one.

If he does come back, that would be a perfect opportunity to leapfrog over X3 and whatever movie comes afterwards, do it "right"

Think... Fox might not let him. At least not Marvel. DC VS Marvel. On an interview before, Stan Lee said he really liked Brett's vision on the view and how the movie turned out. And is planning to have future films ( Spinoffs and if there is X4-6,) He'll direct it.

If Fox is producing any future X-films(other than the spinoffs) then Singer might not return b/c there might've been some politics involved! I think Singer can relate better to X-men than he can to Superman b/c he's gay and X-men has alot of homosexual undertones! He made a good Superman film but I think many of the Superman fans were disappointed with his vision and the general public didn't take well to SR (even though the critics loved it)as can be seen by the average BO earnings the film has been getting!

IMO Singer belongs with the X-men and Ratner should've done SR! Singer can relate to the X-men while Ratner relates better to Superman(he even said Superman is his favourite comic book hero)!

I hope Singer doesn't return, nor do I think he will.

I thought Ratner was the new x-men messiah for some here? The dream x-men director.

A Bryan Singer directed X-Men 4 is really the only way I'd want to see an X-Men 4. With the movie-verse being Bryan Singer's vision, I think he's the only one who can successfully revive the franchise after X-Men: The Last Stand.

And that's nothing against X-Men: The Last Stand. I thought it was a very good movie.

But it brought too much closure to the franchise to justify continuing, in my opinion, and if it has to continue, then I'd rather see the man who essentially created this world bring it back with his vision.

No, some of us are still pro-Singer! I had doubts about him after seeing X1 but after X2 there was no doubt in my mind that he was perfect for X-men! Ratner's direction left alot to be desired and I didn't feel connected to the characters in X3 as much as the previous films(although it might not be his fault entirely)!

BTW Retro, are you pro-Singer, pro-Ratner or you don't mind either?

Singer needs to do Magneto if hes open for more...it can be a great character piece if the right guys are on the job. imo wait for singer for that one. Otherwise itll sink i think.

I'm pro-Singer but I doubt he'd really return. I wish he would. :(

Ratner did ok but i dont think i trust him with Magneto... that doesnt have the flash of the wolverine movie and it would need to survive on its story foremost.

Singer not that i hate Ratner and wish that he was lynched by a mob of angry fans or anything like that.

It might have been better if Singer did X-Men 3 (with Gambit, Emma Frost, Phoenix) and Ratner did Superman (with non-exploding Krypton and supervillains). Perhaps there wouldn't be so much moaning and the box office for both films would have been good too.:(

P.S: I'd have liked to have seen what Ratner could have accomplished with his own writers and if he was there from the very start of development.

i'm on the fence. All are good, yet closing a trilogy is harder then to make ostart and middle

The Magneto film is definetly something up Singer's ally. I could see him directing that.

Oh this news makes me smile, if theres an X4 he has to do it!!

If Fox decides to go with the Archangel storyline down the line, I want Singer to direct it. ONLY Singer.
