When X3 ended, I truly expected there to be more of a cliff hanger than Magneto moving a chess piece. My vision of that ending would have been like this...

[Day - Outdoors in Park]

Bunch of Old men playing chess together, one old man playing by himself until a mysterious man in a trench coat sits across from him.

Stranger: "Hello Eric, my name is Nathaniel Essex, but you can call me Mr. Sinister..."

[Roll Credits]

That leaves the door open for a sequel with some direction and a plot point such as...

Sinister has been experimenting on mutants for years and has discovered how to enhance mutant abilities and even resurrect dead mutants through cloning. Obviously, he would bring back Scott and Jean to be his slaves. He would continue experimenting on other thought to be dead mutants (Sabertooth, Toad, DeathStrike) and have his own group of thugs(The Nasty Boys)

Some X-men will leave the team (Beast, Wolverine, Rogue) New X-Men would be introduced(Angel, GAMBIT, Emma Frost, Banshee, Leech, etc.)

Could show brief scenes of Beast in the white house, Wolvie in Canada and Rogue joining with Mystique after their powers flare up and return. Re-cast Storm and have her be the "stay at home Mom" of the X-men and join the team in the final confrontation.

But should definitely focus on the NEW heroes and the NEW threat. With Sinister at the helm, it could be an interesting plot and make for some creepy experimentation scenes. The question is, who could play Sinister?

My vote goes to Ralph Fiennes.. who else is there?

I really like this idea of a X4--BRING ON SINISTER.

Anything to bring Cyclops back as the leader would be better than killing him off--Bring on the Clones. We didnt even get to see a full-on Anger blast (visor-less) from him since the first one and that was by mistake.

I also like the idea of Storm being a "stay-at-home teacher. Let her have a great Danger room sequence and phobia-scare

I also like the idea of "flash-backs" I think it was the best way to start X1(it really got use to trust Singer), and would love to see a flash of Professor X, looking over where his pupils are...be it Wolverine in Canada, Beast in the White House, and Nightcrawler in Britain or even Juggernaut against the Hulk.

Bring-on Gambit, Angel, Colossus and Iceman as major contenders. I would love to see a Emma Frost tie-in. With her history w/ Essex. Bring-on alot of name dropping--Stark, Worthington, Essex and Inner Circle.

My vote is Rufus Sewell for Sinister.
I made a manip to see if he could look the part...
I convinced myself, and he is my number one choice.

Ralph Fiennes is a good choice too, but I'm glued to Sewell. :o

Do not under estimate Gary Oldman for Sinister!

I like Sinster as a character but I think he is one of those characters that needs some building time.

I would like to see them do another trilogy.

x4--->Friends of Humanity lead by Graydon Creed/Cyclops Return/New Brotherhood/Sentinels/Essex introduction,Sebastian Shaw introduction/Muir Island.
x5--->hellfire club/ phoenix resurected/legacy virus/ Sinister breaks off from hellfire club/professor X returs to mansion.
x6--->Apocalypse.

the reason I had so many ideas for x4 is I have written a fan fiction for the way I pictured it.

Am I the only one who doesn't think that Essex should be called "Mr. Sinister" in the movies? It sounds a little too... I don't know... "gimmicky", I guess. It would be like Jean being called "Marvel Girl" in the first two movies. The name sounds kinda silly. I think He should just call himself "Sinister". I think the backstory to him taking on that name is a good one and it makes sense. Just drop the "Mr.", and we're good. :)

I agree. His name sounds better without the "Mr." part. They should drop in his eventual movie appearance and in the comics.

I third that one! Although I really hope that Beast would be in X4
