Six flags chicago!

Anybody been? Im planning a trip thier this summer for my gfs birthday,they have a new superman ride thier and she loves superman.I wonderd if any of you have been thier and could offer a few answers to these questions-is the dc merchandise shop thier good? expensive? exclusives? lots of superman? is thier good food at the park? are the lines bad? is stuff running usully? any other tips and exp would be great.thanks!

I've been there a bunch of times. The Superman ride isn't really that great, Raging Bull and Vertical Velocity are much better. The gifts shops seemed pretty well stocked with the usual stuff, didn't check the prices. There's a bunch of restaurants/stands throughout the park, you can probably get something good, but does it really matter? You're gonna be on roller coasters all day, it might come back up. They opened a new Water Park edition next door (admission is included with the ticket to the actual park) last year that's supposed to be cool. The park is packed on weekends, when I was in school I'd usually go mid-week, much less crowded. If you pay a little extra you can get something that allows you to move to the front of the line on a certain number of rides, totally well worth the money as some rides can have a 2-3 hour wait, you use those and you can hit everything and maybe go to the water park too.

Also the park isn't in Chicago, it's in Gurnee about an hour and a half outside the city.

I haven't been to Great America since 97, I didn't even know they had all of these new rides.

thanks af15.I gotta have somthing to eat wherever i go,i should be fine but if it comes up it comes up.I just wonderd,the week things good to know but i will most liklye end up thier on a weekend.sucks about the superman ride but im sure will ride it a few times.any high lights from the gift shop involving superman?

I normally go to the six flags in Atlanta twice a year. But I've never been to the one in Chicago.

I never buy stuff from the gift shops, I actually try to avoid them, but most of the rides exit right into a gift shop. When I went last year I saw a bunch of people wearing Superman and Batman capes, so those were pretty popular, but like I said I pretty much avoid them, don't need to spend my money on stupid crap that I'll never use/wear.

To some degree they are, but some are only ones with such and such ride. For example, Atlanta is the only one with Superman: Ultimate Flight. Others have Superman, but ours is the only "ultimate flight".
