Do you really believe they would be moving forward strongly for WW movie, if not happy with her performance shown for BvS?

Executives and producers being happy with things doesn't mean anything, as demonstrated by all the s*** that comes out every year.

Zack Snyder/Ben Affleck/Deborah Snyder all said that Gadot blew them away from the moment she did her dialogue test with Affleck.

Unfortunately that's all we really have to go on considering she really hasn't had any huge roles to show off her acting talent aside from being a side character in FF

I don't see the point of being skeptical about a film in progress. If anything, why not send good vibes to the London set? Of course, if I was actually involved in the production and had influence, then yeah I'd be putting in my two cents quite loudly, whether positive or negative. Because I'd actually know what's in the script, etc. We know next to nothing.

Although I do like to have fun dissecting rumors. But that's another thing altogether.

Of all the DC films, I am the most skeptical of WW.

Batman v Superman should be at least good, Suicide Squad looks powerfully dramatic, but WW seems like it could be bad, NOT because WW is a worse character, but because WB seems to be holding it a little to close to its chest.

Jason Fuchs seems like a nice guy, but do you really want the author of PAN to do WW? I personally hope that WW gets an amazing screenwriter. I think Terrio's lightning in a bottle, and would hope that WB would show the same respect for WW.

As for Gal herself, a standalone feature may reveal problems in her range that might not exist in a supporting role.

On the other hand, I'm excited this movie is happening, and anything bad can be addressed or improved on in a sequel.

I actually think Squad will be far more mixed. A bunch of origin stuff for most of the running time. As each character does their cool walk thing, jump into their origin back and forth. No matter what, folks will complain about the HQ n Joker stuff. I can see the think pieces from here.

Eh the only characters I can really see getting in-depth origins would be Harley, Joker, Deadshot, and maybe Enchantress. The rest you can spend less than two minutes on background.

There's that picture of Waller and the Squad photos behind her in the magazine article. I imagine they will address everyone's origin at that point, Waller talking about each one to her superiors, and then the main ones will get more attention later (Harley, Deadshot). Enchantress will get her origin told throughout the movie.

But hey, back to WW skepticism :o

For some reason I have a feeling the movie will be too heavy on the militar side and too little on the mythologic side. We may never see the Gods, for instance.

Everyone is talking about the costume designer on the costume thread, who did the design for Clash of the Titans... but she also did the costumes designs for 2 movies set in the WWI period. Which means she won't necessarily make the costumes for gods and such, maybe only soldiers, civilians, etc. The Amazons too, but that might be the only mythological aspect of the movie.

I don't think we know enough to have any real skepticism just yet.

I think it's too early to say this film won't focus on the mythological side. So far we know that Diana is immortal and her father is Zeus. So Zeus has a strong chance of appearing. Plus Ares and Circe have been heavily rumored to be the film's villians. And until proven wrong, I think Huston and Anaya are playing those roles.

Also let's not forget the golden rod that was sticking out of Diana's pouch in one of the set pics. It may be some mythical object that drives the plot forward and have some relation to the gods.

Indeed. We need the solo film to be a success. I like the Wonder Woman TV series, the Justice League and Justice League Unlimited version and the Wonder Woman Animated Movie. If we have four, five or six good cinematic appearances from Gal its going to do wonders for the character, ha.

Hell, *one* good cinematic appearance would do huge things for the character. Look at what happened to Iron Man even just after the first movie.

Anyone, on giving things further thought, I have something else to be skeptical about: the WWI setting. Oh, thematically, having Diana show up amidst a war that is just plain bad has some interesting potential. Its more that it begs a lot of questions about what the heck the Amazons collectively or Wonder Woman in particular have been doing since then. I can totally understand WWI souring Diana on intervention, perhaps with everyone saying "The World of Men is in a crappy place, lets give it a century before trying anything again." The problem is the little thing called 'nuclear weapons', the development of which should have led the Themiscyrans to take a *really* strong interest in world affairs. Mortals killing each other in droves is not new, but the ability to crash global civilization and kill billions with the press of a button? This is something the Amazons *should* care about, enough to act, if they have any claim to being morally superior at all.

There are certainly ways to handle this, while maintaining the seemingly-desired "world largely seems mundane until MoS, give or take some urban legends and creepy vigilantes and low level weirdness". My concern is that the writers and director won't bother, and the same unconcern for narrative coherence that gave us "Superman as Captain Collateral Damage" will end up giving us "Wonder Woman and the Amazons Who Are Fine If Humanity Kills Itself".

I don't think we have anywhere near close to enough info for me, at least, to have any skepticism for it yet.

I'll let y'all know when the first trailer drops.

As of right now, I'm just in love with Gal Gadot (and have nothing but love for what we have seen of her in the BvS trailers) and excited that Patty Jenkins is directing her solo film.

The screenplay is really the only thing that gives me pause, but Fuchs has such a limited filmography that I'm not about to outright condemn him.

    We shall see.

Director Patty Jenkins is also a script-writer, I am sure she would have made some contributions / modifications to Fuchs' script.

BTW, Fuchs script could include some of the scenes written by other writers who worked earlier on this movie project (including Joss Whedon), apart from that, he has stated that he read several WW comics, and watched DC animated shows while working on the script.

So, I'm not that worried, maybe just a little bit. :oldrazz:

Sorry I wasn't clear. I knew you meant the script. I just wanted to know why.
