As some of you may remember, a while back we got a set pic from the Boneyard in Arizona with the "Twins" and Bumblebee. On the back of one of the Twins was the word SKIDS where the plate would have gone.

I was reading the Reign of Starscream TPB today, and on page 52, panel 4, one of the Autobots mentions sparring with SKIDS, in bold, black letters. Do you think this was on purpose by the writers, who had first hand information (They mention in the foreward that they had to change things because of ROTF) or them just picking a random name?

They thow in random G1 names in the Bayformers comic just for fans sake.

Or because none of the people involved in the movie know what the **** they are doing..... case in point, the complete lack of any kind of publicity for this movie when we are only 6 months away from it.

who ever came up with that ****** idea should be shot, hung, drawn and quartered then told to leave the building and never return.

So I assume that means no publicity right now is a dumb move to you?

People LOVED the first one. It made tons of money. All they have to do is release one trailer for the movie and some TV spots as the clock gets closer to release and they will make tons of money without spending much on promoting it.

That is called good business.

But it has been proven time and time again that good-long promotion produces MORE money in the grand scheme of things; even if they spend a little more marketing the film than simply doing what you suggested, their profit returns could be way more.

The first movie made money partly because of all the internet hype around it- the leaked pics, the negative and postive critism of the designs, etc...and it started a year + out from it's release. This one is 6 months away and we haven't even gotten a poster yet. I think the film-makers are feeling a bit cocky and over-confident if you ask me. Alot of ppl didn't necessarily enjoy TF1, eventhough they went and saw it; so unless the film makers give ppl another reason to return for part 2, all the complaints from TF1 like the close shot's, shakey cam action, silly-dumb humor, could actually convince some that they may not wanna sit through that kinda film again...............

.........but this is where marketing comes in. Get ppl interested in seeing number 2.

And on a side-note:

I noticed we have alot of sets pics of the Autobots but none of the Decepticons..:huh:

They're going to be cramming so much Transformers ads in the coming months down our throats we'll be wishing for how it is now.

Alot of ppl didn't necessarily enjoy TF1, eventhough they went and saw it;

And yet, a lot more people that watched it, not only enjoyed it, but loved it and watched it more then once. In fact, I have no problem saying people like you and me and everyone else on the boards, the people that go on the internet are a big minority of people that see movies. According to Box Office Mojo it continued to make lots of money every week. Not once in it's run did it lose more then 48.3% of it's audience from the last week. That's pretty damn good for a movie when keeping 50% of your audience the following weeks is a challenge for just about any other movie.
