At least it's name is news to me, while looking for footage of the 8 year old protecting his mom's purse - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egV7z1T2-Xk

I got a bunch of links to this, although always aware of the possibility, particularly targeting my mom, sisters fem friends, who tend to keep their stuff in their purse right there, I never new it had a name until now -

Yay a new low:csad: and reason to hate humanity, although that 8 year old kid was awesome!

"...I was scared a little bit, but told myself just go with it." "My sisters party was coming up and I wanted her to have her party... and my mom to get all her stuff back.":woot:

I thought they were remaking the show Sliders from the title.

This is pretty crappy though.

I thought of that and those sandwiches they call sliders.

I thought the thread was about those miniature curling stones that were on the market for about 2 months in 1989.

Because starting a thread about those would really be a new low.

While watching those videos, all I could think was"If there's nobody in the passenger seat, why the hell was the passenger door unlocked?"

But I forget, not everybody was raised to keep the car doors locked at all times like I was. My parents and grandparents always said to lock the doors as soon as you get in the car, just in case someone tries to carjack us at a red light or something. When I get out of the car at a gas station, I immediately lock my driver's side door, and all of my other doors are already locked.

Yeah it's a mistake to do so. People have friends that come in and out of cars, or are dropping off kids then once they are gone the door stays unlocked, I know plenty of women who tend to keep their purse there. These guys are also targeting them specific, and that's where it goes next to them while driving.
It's instinctualy a safe feeling place. And as some of the interviews attest too (at 1:55) - http://www.news4jax.com/news/slider...g-gas/-/475880/21404958/-/m3ss16/-/index.html - tend to think everyone is there doing the same thing, pumping gas, so their guard is down, you don't think while your standing right there next to it with the front door open, someone is on the other side creeping low reaching into your car.

Also the woman in the first vid, even had her kids in the car, sadly people tend to want to believe they are safe, that's the world they want to live in.
Nobody wants to live looking over their shoulder constantly, but oh well.
