Slingers Sighting!

Sweet. It looks like Prodigy actually makes a decent stand, too. He's hopelessly outmatched, but I hope he gets a few more good licks in on Iron Man. I'm almost willing to buy Frontline now, just for that. Good catch.

It's like they know we want them back. Rico in Runaways, Hornet in Wolverine (kinda), Prodigy in GLA and Now here. We just need to see Dusk again, and they need to explain that Eddie had the armor stolen or something, and then we are all set for a reunion.

I wouldn't count Hornet in Wolverine for anything other than an insult to Slingers fans, myself. It seems that more than a few writers at Marvel these days took a shine to the Slingers back in the day, though.

Also, it may be that the writer was just going for the irony of Iron Man fighting Prodigy. Prodigy's the bright and shiny Superman archetype that Peter devised, who became the darkest and most troubled of the Slingers, who's now fighting Iron Man, whom Spider-Man is aligned with but is going to betray... Ok, maybe it's not ironic.

Pretty cool, I wasn't a big fan of Slingers, but at least it wasn't more mutants (except Rico) when they appeared.

Someone mentioned Prodigy showing up... awesome to see. Now if he could just join Cap's New Avengers...:)

I'd rather they start a 'Excelsior' ongoing and put the remainder of the 'Slingers' crew on the book.

I'd love it if the Slingers and the remaining New Warriors came together to re-form the Warriors as a big "**** you" to the government. :D

Yeah. Way I see it, a group like that would kind of be the anti Avengers/Fantastic Four. Instead of working so closely with the government that they're practically unofficial agents, they'd be the rebels.

Especially since the government has essentially taken one mistake that could've happened to any superteam and used it to drag the Warriors' names through the mud. We've already seen the toll that knowing that their friends will live in infamy forever as the perpetrators of the Stamford massacre is taking on Vance and Rage over in She-Hulk. Once Nova gets back and learns of it, he'd definitely go for a reunion if it meant a chance to redeem their memories, and I imagine most of the other retired Warriors would, too.

Guys that's a great notion!!

God!! I wish I was EIC at Marvel!!

I think they should lauch an 'Excelsior' ongoing just for that purpose, it's the perfect set-up for a team book and a way to make use of all these 20 something superheroes.

Very good points. Could be interesting, post Civil War, to see a new, U.N./S.H.E.I.L.D. sanctioned Avengers facing of with the quasi fugitive New Warrios/Slingers hybrid team.

It'd be kind of cool if Captain America hooked up with them initially, too. Cap's on the run, all alone post-CW and then, when all hope seems lost, lo and behold, he's approached by the surviving Warriors and Slingers, who want to help him stick it to the Man for what's been done to their friends. I'm not ashamed to say I might actually wet myself if that happened. :)

That could be very very cool. And, the U.N. and S.H.E.I.L.D. puts together a new Avengers team comprised of heroes form different nations, led by Iron Man. The two teams end up fighting one another.

Slingers? WTF? I thought Millar killed those mofos already.;)

Silence, heathen!

Yeah, it'd be pretty sweet, especially if Nova retains the Worldmind's power. He'd likely be a match for the Sentry. With people like Timeslip and Dusk on their side, the Warriors would probably have the edge in versatility, and we all know there's no better leader to rally around than Captain America. It'd be a great fight, at the very least.

If by some chance Marvel you are listening to this, Please by the eye of frackin' Odin make this happen!!!!

Haha, I love how people name themselves BSG fans by letting the slang slip. The word "frak" is such a pleasure to use, even though it's just a fictional curse word. :)

So, who would you pick for each team? For the Avengers, my line up would be:

Iron Man
Red Gaurdian II
Captain Britain
Radioactive Man
Sunfire
Sasquatch
Black Panther
Namor

And, last but not least, Dr. Doom (he kind of invited himself).

Anyone hears about a slingers graphic novel collection, PM me. I missed it entirely the first time through.
