Slot Machines

It bores me

+

Waste of money

Me doing something else.

Slots can be exciting but I think people ought to know their limits and when to stop. It ought to be a fun, frivolous thing. The whole thrill of possibly winning the jackpot or just a good pot. I'm coming from a vacation to Vegas perspective (or any other place that allows this), though. :woot:

I thought those were for old people?

It's quite popular among senior citizens although I've seen all ages playing slots. The seniors are more hardcore about it, I think.

So I'm playing the slots at the casino here about 10 years ago or so. Just having fun, winning a little, replaying my winnings. My (then) wife and friend's come by and say it's time to go, I say just one more pull but they drag me away anyway. The machine I was playing was right by the cash-out booth and as no one had sat at the machine I was playing I kept 3 tokens to play it on the way out. While everyone is joking with me about having a gambling problem some old lady sits down at the machine I was playing...plops in her tokens...pulls...and jackpot.
True story..I rode my friends about that one for ages.

They're a waste of money and I don't mind losing a little bit of money. I prefer table games. While they are still games of luck, it is a situation where one can control their chances.

It seems to only work for middle aged and older women. I know of so many women who go to Atlantic City put a couple of hundred dollars in the slots and come out with thousands.

saw that while in AC one lady won over 6,000 after putting a couple 100 bills in one machine

I usually like to play the Star Wars because it's cheap, 5 or a penny depends which casino you playing at

Slots are simply too addictive. 9 times out of 10 people will play until they make a whole bunch of money and then lose all of that money. Meaning that they spent a whole lot of time and only gained emotional and financial trauma.

Not me, I play for fun and always set a limit and if I win any money I learn to quit while ahead and get the money out

I play once in a while just to mess around, because honestly they're more of a crap shoot than an actual crap shoot. Here in the Gary area we have two casino riverboats, and they stay full capacity all the time.

I've got tickets to see Stephen Lynch in April. I'm probably going to just do my usual of $100 on the tables.

Usually just black jack. I've done Roulette a couple of times but I like to keep it simple.

Roulette and craps are lots of fun, you can get up pretty high but you just can't pull back before they **** you. It's always one more roll or one more spin, and that's the one that gets you.

Black Jack is fun but the reason I don't like it is crappy players **** up your game. That's why I love poker, people watch it on TV, learn some lingo and think they can play. Then you just sit back and slowly bleed them dry.

I picture you playing baccarat in a james bond tux with a star wars pin on your lapel.

Gambling is a waste of time and money no matter how you do it.

Let me tell you that for a casino, the slot machines are the most profitable section. Therefore, by correlation, they are also the games where you have the least chance of winning.

I prefer poker tables anyway where I can have some input.

Totally boring and waste of money imo.
I have never seen anyone win any significant amount of info playing them either.

However, card games, roulette and craps I have seen lots of money won, people having fun and some strategy involved.

I have, I know a dude that has a uncanny knack of winning on the slots. He just walks around pop in some money and several times he wins around several hundred to over a thousand bucks and I seen him do it firsthand. Never works for me though :(
