I thought it'd be fun to share this short clip with anyone who hasnt seen Superman: TAS, this clip covers some of Clark's time in Smallville; going to high school, discovering his powers.

It's interesting to note differences and similarities, Jonathan says 'It's time...' (just like in Pilot) while Lana Lang in this version seems like a completely different character to the SV one.

^^^^^^^yea a completely better one

The Last Son of Krypton arc in season one, is really, really good!

Speaking of which knowing how slow Shaq is how could not one of them catch him on that break away.

The Wizards did not lose they were robbed and I swear if not for LJ the cavs would not have even won one game. The ref's cheat for that man so much that it is not funny. Hell the Pistons almost got robbed by them.

I wonder if they characterized Lana Lang like this from the start, if it would even be necessary to bring Lois Lane in to SV.

She seems to have alot of SV Lois' jovial personality traits, though not as annoying.

I love the STAS origin tale. Great episode.

Too bad the clip cuts off Lois in mid-tirade...

*triplet digs out her STAS set*

I personally loved the episode they just showed 2 weekend ago. 'My Girl' it was called. Lana was in Metropolis for her fashion show. I loved this version of Lana a lot.

She figured out the minute she saw Superman that he was Clark. And when they were in her apartment she goes: 'Just because I'm gorgeous doesn't mean I'm stupid'. I was lmao at that line. So true.

And how she willingly spied on Lex the minute Clark said he was a bad guy. Made me wish that Smallville Lana would do the same. But I don't expect that in the near future. After all staying true to character isn't something they know how to do.

I read about that ep on the Sweet site.. I wish I had seen it. I did notice that the Lana in S:TAS looks very KK-like too. I wonder if that's just coincidence?

Did you think that maybe its something that they dont want to do? They want their characters to learn and grow rather than just be who they are because a comic book says so.

Ouch. Perhaps it's out of context, but that line is HORRIBLE, IMHO. It makes Lana sound ridiculously conceited, and it chips away at Lois' intelligence by extension since Lois *doesn't* see through Clark's facade.

Lana knew about Clark's powers back in Smallville....so obviously it wasnt hard to put 2 and 2 together. Clark was basically open with her about his abilities as he started to develop them back then. No secrets, lies or unnecessary drawn out drama/angst.

Lois is still a victim of being decieved by the "Clark Kent" disguise, she doesnt know any better at this point.

I can send it your way somehow if you want.

I only found it funny because I though of Smallville when she said that. It reminded me of Smallville Clark who probably thinks like that about Lana. And I'm pretty sure Smallville Lana is way smarter than most people give her credit for. Even though it's barely shown on screen.

Exactly.

Then whats the point of even calling it Smallville if you dont have the characters from the SUPERMAN mythos behave like they do in the comics? Go watch one of the many other melodramatic shows if you want to see something different from the comic book. Thats what started it all, the :supes: comic books. You can't have SV without the other. I just dont get this damn stuborn attitude some display here... :down The comic book came first, not the other way around!

The ratings also seem to go trough the roof everytime they actualy have a heavy mythos related episode. Thats usually only at the season finale's or the start of a new season. It would make this show so MUCH better if these caracters were perhaps more accurate. Think someone like the Luthors.

Some should remember that at the end of the show there's the DC logo. In other words, it means its an adaptation. Shure it can have different thing than the comics, but messing with the characters cant turn this into a B&R or Superman Lives type material where the characters are changed just for the sake of either spectacle or to fit their story.

It is a reimagning, or "Elseworlds" as is known in DC Comicsland. You seem to understand this but then curse it for doing so. Personally I think you're wearing a paper hat.

You don't like it, okie dokie.

How many times did you read my reply? Maybe you read too much into it? Its really simple my point. I think SV screws the characters up. But then again, thats the director/actor/writer's problem.

Well, in "The Last Son of Krypton" from S:TAS, Clark wasn't a complete moron like he is in Smallville sometimes. He told Lana about his powers right off the bat. So when she showed up in Metropolis and there's Superman running around with Clark's powers, it probably wasn't that hard for her to figure it out.

Yep, it's out of context. See above - Lana already knew about Clark.
