'Smallville' scoop: Does this teaser sound familiar?

Clark Kent is getting closer to his Superman destiny.
This Friday, The CW will roll out this promo for the final episodes of Smallville that licenses John Williams’ classic score from the original 1978 Superman movie. If you’re a fan, this will give you chills:

The use of the song (titled, by the way, "The Planet Krypton") is also accompanied here by the word "Believe" which is from -- guesses?
Yes! The famous Superman movie tagline: "You will believe a man can fly."

Judging by the teaser, I think i'm right. Well see a close up shot of Tom flying in the suit and then hes gonna go to space and wink at the camera and fly past us. End of the show.

Have fun being disappointed if you expect a big budget super-battle with Darkseid with him in the suit.

Not expecting a lot is the key to success, imo.

But hey! I'd love to be wrong, actually.

The shot also originates from the show, if I remember correctly. That might have something to do with why they used it...

I have to agree that you're assuming something very, very specific, based on a very short, very vague, early promo piece.

Nobody's expecting a big-budget anything when it comes to Smallville. We know how the CW treats it and usually know what to expect from it money-wise. But what we will not do is draw drastic conclusions based on some 15 second teaser.

What wrong with drawing conclusions based on the teaser? And is that not the point of a teaser?


I too would like to see Tom fly by the screen with a beaming smile to the audience. If it doesn't happen, I'll be okay with it. It doesn't take away from the fun of speculating.

Finally, I disagree that this is a 15-sec worth of nothing. This ain't nothing. This is THE Johns Williams theme. It's SUPERMAN!
