Who is the smartest person in the Marvel Universe?

Personally I think it would be Loki or Iron Man.

You're referring specifically to the MCU, rather than the Marvel Universe, right?

In any case, I'm thinking it's between Stark & Shuri. Loki isn't so much smart as he is deceptive; Loki isn't an Inventor and doesn't create things, but then I guess it depends on what you mean (specifically) by smart. Are we talking IQ?

Reed Richards?

Or am I in the wrong universe?

That remains to be seen. Reed Richards is 'Marvel' but (as of yet) doesn't exist within the MCU (the film universe). I'm unsure whether we're supposed to be discussing IQ from the comic perspective, or from the MCU perspective, but as this topic originated in the Avengers (film) forum, I'm assuming the poster was specific to characters we've seen in the films.

The existing F4 films aren't part of the MCU. :)

1. Moon Girl, because she took an IQ test and got a better score than Reed Richards.
2. Reed Richards
3. Doctor Doom
4. Tony Stark
5. Bruce Banner
6. Hank Pym
7. Beast
8. King T'Challa
9. Amadeus Cho
10. Ironheart

OK, that makes sense. I was assuming from the general comic perspective.

Drax of course.

For MCU, I'd say Shuri. Mostly because she's really smart, but it also has to do a bit with the resources she has in Wakanda (i.e the vibranium).

Dr Strange ?

Reasons :
*Eidetic memory
*world class brain surgeon
* Mastered magic spells that nobody else could in a very short time
*used his brains to defeat Dormammu ( possibly the most powerful MCU villain besides 6-stone Thanos )

And.... I'm reasonably confident that Dr Strange will be shown to be one of the key players in Thanos' eventual defeat. Strange used the time stone to see the future and worked out that he had to give Thanos the time stone in order to set in motion the series of events which lead to Thanos' downfall.

Shuri and Stark are brilliant scientist/engineers no question but Strange should be up there on his own merits.

shuri is being overrated here. we still don’t know the full capabilities of Rocket.

Where does Strange come in?

Give Strange maybe a week? He'd probably be able to talk about Nanotech and offer Stark armor upgrade suggestions if he wanted to.

I would vote Hank Pym number one because he is a master in so many different and non related fields:
biochemistry*and*nanotechnology, and expertise in the fields of*quantum physics,*robotics/cybernetics,*artificial intelligence, and*entomology (according to his wiki page).

2)Bruce Banner
3) Tony Stark
4) Dr. Stephen Strange
5) Shuri

We know that it's Shuri as it's been stated by several people that create the MCU. It's a fact.

It also makes sense given the deep knowledge she possesses in several fields, and she got that understanding in a very short time as she's so young.

She could heal Ross despite that his injuries were complicated enough that they probably needed a surgeon like Strange. She instantly showed an insight into how Vision and the Mind Stone worked that apparently didn't occur to neither Banner nor Stark. She's designed tons of things in Wakanda, like BP's new suit, the Vibranium transportation system, the orbs, etc.

The list goes on and it's extremely impressive even before you realize that she's only sixteen years old.

Tony and Banner are the smartest until Reed enters the picture.

Shuri got one over on Dr. Banner, so I'd say she's the smartest until Reed elongates himself into the MCU.

I still haven't seen anything in the very little time she's been in to show how or why she's smarter than Tony, Bruce or Dr. Strange for that matter.

And I still haven't seen anything to indicate they are. In fact, we already had one scene dedicated to showing that she had a better idea about Vision that neither Bruce nor Tony thought of when they were building him.

Strange doesn't even factor in. Don't know why he's even being discussed.

And yet she was completely useless with Vision.

Tell me why exactly is she the smartest?
