SNL dumps two of it's star players(WTF)??

I'm still having a hard time believing this s***. Casey Wilson and Michaela Watkins both got fired from Saturday Night Live just to make room for a couple of newer ladies. Are you kidding me?? Okay, granted, Wilson never seemed more than just a marginally funny chick with the best rack ever to grace the show's 34 year history, but Michaela Watkins?? She was one of the best players the show had last season. Why couldn't they have dumped that annoying fat guy or Andy Samberg. Lord knows, he's not all that funny in sketches. In the digital shorts, absolutely, but come on. I'm a fan of Watkins, clearly, and she will now be placed in the "Janeane Garofalo-gone before her time" category. It's tragic foreshadowing for the show.

That has to be tough losing a gig on SNL . Your supposed to leave there for greener pastures , not get canned.

Well SNL also denied Jim Carrey and he went on In Living Color and got huge.
 
One of the new girls is an Iranian-American. Now they have an actress who can play Octomom in sketches. The show needed some diversity, afterall, Fred Armisen can't play all of the minority characters that Keenan Thompson can't play.

I thought Watkins was decent. Casey Wilson was hit or miss on that show, but she does have a nice rack.
 
who's going to play Hoda when they make fun of The Today Show now?!

She does get really annoying sometimes...
 
Most of her characters are meant to be annoying.
 
It seems the norm that whenever anyone gets popular with the masses, they are not so liked on forums anymore.

Wig is good at what she does, and sometimes I think she can be the glue to keep the show togethor with some sketches.

I wish I knew who these two ladies were...wait nm I don't care. SNL is pretty meh right now anyways so I could care less. Give me Cheri Oteri any day.


and Kristen Wigg is the funniest woman on that show and as someone said...that isn't saying much:o
 
This is nuts. Those two were brought in because there were only two women on the show at the time(Poehler and Wig) Then Poehler got pregnant or already was I forgot.

Then it was just Wig.

A few weeks later, two new female cast members.

It feels like Michaela Watkins was just starting to do more skits and then they have the season finale :wtf:
 
Don't care about Wilson.

Watkins was alright though. But not alright to the point where she deserves her own show.
 
So according to Lorne he thinks that Watkins shows promising talent which should be explored elsewhere and not held back by SNL, if that were the case then Darryl Hammond should of left years ago.
 
He was lying...that stupid movie reviewer character sucked and she was second to Wigg in the Today Show 4th hours sketch. She was just meh.
 
Maybe Lorne Michaels will change his mind and bring Michaela Watkins back, like he did Chris Parnell several years back (there have been other SNL players who were suddenly brought back after being fired but I don't have all of the names in front of me right now). I think that it's kind of dumb for the show to fire two women after hiring two other women. Since when was there a limit for how many female castmembers could be on SNL?

could be due to budget. they can't afford 5 women at once so they had to axe two of them in order to gain the other two. And the two new women could be getting a cheaper salary. Of course, that's just my theory. I have no idea what goes on in Lorne's head...
 
He is too worried about making the horrible Magruber movie:dry:
 
I didn't much care for Casey but I definitely felt like Watkins had potential.

Wiig is probably the most talented woman on the show. She's not just funny, she sPeedily goes through like a 4 paragraph monologue in half a minute with nary a slip up.

That other new chick from last season is smokin' hot though. I forget her name but she plays Angelina Jolie & Jessica Rabbit sometimes...
 
That sucks, no more Cougar's Den. They only kept Abby Elliot because she's pretty: besides Angelina Jolie what else has she done?

I hope they at least get rid of Bobby Moynihan too then, he's a waste of space.
