So basically, what they are saying is that if you brought a 360 core pack with peripharals you don't really need or have to have, and have a choice to buy, it would cost as much as a ps3 thats forcing everything on you?

The diagram just compares how much a 360 would cost if it were to match the PS3 in terms of features. In that sense, it's a good comparison. Matching the consoles for feature for feature.

The diagram doesn't say ''this is stuff you can get but don't need to for the 360 the ps3 can provide''. It says ''this is what you NEED for a 360, in comparison to ps3''.
