Guardians of the Galaxy so there are just humans spread throughout the galaxy?

did your parents really need to have you? have you cured cancer or anything?

anyways, it kinda' puts a weird twist on the marvel universe.

Not really...cause I mean....that happens with pretty much EVERY sci-fi

and in the comics..and usually the explanation is they aren't human...just human like

plenty of kree look human, some are blue, some are just caucasian looking. also spartoi are human looking, that is why quill looks completely human, he is half human half spartoi. the spartoi empire is huge so that could be who you see. just these 2 empires alone could account for a human looking race walking around in the universe.

I just found it weird that there's extraterrestrial humans who look and speak just like average Americans.

Another thing is that the Other seemed scared of humanity after the Avengers. Why would they be so surprised of what humanity is capable of if humanity is already spread throughout the stars?

If there are planets in the universe similar to Earth in composition, atmosphere, etc then yes there would be "aliens" that look just like "humans".

yes, because our own planet spawned hundreds of different species that look just like humans. LOL. good logic there.

It's one of those things we really don't think much of but in the Marvel U there are plenty of humanoids that look human, the Kree as one example Asgardians as well.

if you accept the idea of Thor existing within Marvel universe, then you'll accept the idea of "human-like" aliens living all around that same universe.

If not, then this movie is not for you.

Convergent evolution?

Celestials?

Suspension of disbelief?

Take your pick.

Since this movie kind of copies Farscape, in Farscape there were aliens that looked exactly like humans called Sebaceans. There were some differences. For example, they were cold-blooded.

ancient seeding or travelers or something?

This really needs its own thread?

If recasting Batman can have three different threads in the SM/BM forum, why can't this have a thread? This board isn't all that lively anyway.

Its a weird twist to me too. But I think that ship has already sailed with Thor. Asgardians are pretty much just "larger," hairier, denser humans.

But I agree. I thought Star-Lord was supposed to be the only earthling. Are there set pics of other (obviously) human characters?

John C. Reilly's Rhomann Dey was human-looking, as was at least one of the Nova Corps members in the set pic with the Glenn Close look-alike. Who knows if any of it will be touched up/changed in post, but I wouldn't expect it.

Edit: Of course, this doesn't mean they are "Earthlings." Just similar in appearance.

What?? Where did I ever say that would be the only kind of life on such planets.

All I said was if there were a planet with similar compositions to Earth then it would theoretically produce organisms similar to our's which would eventually evolve into life forms similar to what we have on Earth. I never said those planets would ONLY produce human-looking life forms or something.

Both Xandarians and Kree (with the exception of the blue-skinned Kree) look just like Humans (as do the Silver Surfer's race, the Zenn-Lavians, but sadly they don't exist in the MCU), so that's probably what we're seeing in most of the pictures, not Humans.

An offhand explanation for this phenomenon might be in order. Even ST:TNG devoted an episode to (partially) explaining why there are so many humanoid races in the galalxy.

From the clip, Reilly's character looked 100% human. No face-altering makeup whatsoever.

Did anyone complain about the amount of humans or human looking aliens in Star Trek?

Uh I just covered that man. The answer is YES by the way.
