So uh...what happened to Toxin?

I just finished readin the Venom/Carnage and Toxin minis...What ever happened to him? Did they mentiom something about it in TNA or something?

to the best of my knowledge he has not been seen or mentioned outside of those 2 minis as of yet. But I think we'll see him again, I think they realy nailed the caractarization of the symbiote relationship with this one.

Plus there is an action figure of Toxin coming (unless it was cancelled)...It was just a Venom repaint but still.....it shows some interest in the character.

Speaking on symbiotes, What became of Hybrid, from the New Warriors.

Well he was made from four different symbiotes, I don't remember how. I was interested in the New Warriors for a while so I looked them up. I came across him and was curious. Hybrid (The composite symbiote) was bonded to some guy named Washington as I recall. I believe they were out to prove that not all symbiotes are evil.

hmm... perhaps something a bit more meaningful...

"Symbiotes: the Search for Home" Toxin and Hybrid meet a mutant girl, also in possession of a symbiote. she has the mutant ability of teleporation anywhere on the planet, augmented to interplanetary standards by her symbiote (Called Shutter). The three are united when they are called by Reed Richards who has recieved a transmitssion from a distant world. There is only one word in the message "Help" and from his studies on the Venom suit, Reed was able to determine that it was in the language of the Symbiotes.

Who knows what happened to him or what will happen to him. It just seems like one of those lower tier characters that will fade away for a while and then a writer will use them for something real quick, much like we've seen with the plethora of other Marvel characters in the past.

Though Toxin was a good idea and I liked where they were going with it. Just unfortunate that there wasn't probably enough interest to warrant an ongoing series or another miniseries out of the deal.

I was hoping they'd have the guy guest star in the Spider-Man books from time to time, but they seemed more focused on keeping Spider-Man going through gigantic life altering events than to actually worry about supporting characters.

They could do an all Symbiot comic, use Hybrid and Toxin, guest star Venom. Maybe Bring in the other symbiots from the past somehow, like Carnage or the female symbiot, maybe even the Spider-Man/Carnage.

Technically, while it may be an OOC story, it doesn't have to be an alternate reality persay. Since the Beyonder(or whatever force is posing as it) has the power to rewrite reality anything that happens over the course of the miniseries can be undone at the end as long as the right character gets their wish granted. I'm guessing it'll be Gravity.

On topic though...Toxin could be a good character given that they tone down the teeth and up the conflict between the symboite and the man...of course I'm sure he'll be folded into obscurity after being used for sales. Which is a shame based on the long history of the symbiotes.

Going slightly off-topic, I always thought the drool-y teeth thing was based off of Venoms(Eddie and the symbiote) desire to pervert Spider-mans image as opposed to natural state. Carnage bonded with Cletus so that makes sense that teeth would be inherent to Carnage but Toxin should have been a little calmer in visual form as it was fresh...to me at least, but I don't know every single aspect of the symbiotes.

Arent all the symbiotes on earth part of Venom's lineage? if thats the case then it'd make sense that they all inherited the toothy-drooly thing from him.

If not then maybe the toothy-ness is a species thing and just didnt manifest in Spiderman's costume at first because his overall decency was keeping it in check and it adhered to his personal image at first and it later manifested while bonded to Eddie Brock because he was more succeptible to it's influence.

Yeah, I guess that the the teeth thing could be an inherited trait(I'd argue against a species trait since that would mean familiarity with human physiology prior to Secret Wars one) since the Venom symbiote is the initial source and could have adopted that as the manifest form on earth...but it can be overcome on the part of the host-i.e. Peter and Scott(Hybrids host) so I'd like to see Patrick(if he and Toxin do return) to tone it down a bit since the covers to the Toxin mini were basically teeth and slime. I respect the fact that since Toxin is carnage's offspring the poor guy has to exert more control but every time he gets antsy in the comics it's all, "Whoops! here comes the jaw!" But I'm a cranky long time comic book fan and wah wah wah.

Im waiting for him to join a team.That or it drops the cop and the symbiot run home to mom and dad or mabey even to daredevil or somthing like that.It was such a great mini,I only asked for toxic to be a different color,the red and black thing was lazy.
