Socom: Confrontation

I have yet to get a PS3, but once I do, this is my first buy.

I think Im going to pass this. I dont like the beta and never did get into the series on the PS2. The only thing really appealing to me is the headset

I think this can be as great as COD4 and i agree with Havoc it isn't appealing i just like the headset. But i'd rather get a game w/ the headset instead of paying $49.99 just for the headset

LOL..Sony is doing exactly what Nintendo is doing with the Wiimote but at least its not a crap game thats packaged with this

But i have a feeling that this game won't do too bad I think it will do good it won't be a hit but it won't be a flop.

Tried the beta as well and wasn't a fan. I actually liked the PS2 socom's...socom...only played one so no plural heh. However the beta was just avg, not much more to say. Didn't help that there was unessecary stuttering and load times (comes with beta's, but still). I also had a hard time getting in any games, the layout and waiting rooms just felt akward. I didn't see a reason to switch away from COD4 to pick this up.

Edit - So I'm not completely negative, I do give it positive marks for the character and weapon customization.

I've had to download a bunch of crap for the last four hours to play this game. First the system download, then some junk for the game, now an update to the game. This is madness.

So for those of you who have it and have gone through hell to play it how is it i bought it yesterday and i have had no problems.
I think the Graphics are good not Halo 3 great. the controls are a little tough but its not Calculus the Sound is good the headset is terrific!!! :The Scale of the game is amazing i mean crossroads is extremely huge.

The only problem with the game is that it lags a lot and it boots you out if you don't have a good connection it has it takes a extremely long time to load the game . i would recomend it for Socom Fans and it is a pretty good game i would give ita 7.5/10 My only problem with the game is the servers but once Slant Six has that fixed i am pretty sure it will be quite enjoyable so just please be patient.

Why isn't this thread being slammed with posts? SOCOM is the best online game out there right now as far as i'm concerned. I never liked the previous games in the series...but I REALLY like Confrontation. It's got some of the best tactical gameplay on the consoles right now.

Well, can anyone name another tactical shooter that's out for the PS3 or 360 that's just as good? =P No? hehe Actually, GRAW 2 is pretty good too.

I got the game for christmas for the headset and then I've only played it once which was...last week. Yeah. The people on there were mean so I left.
