Hi.

Just bought myself a gem: Panasonic SC-HT928 Home Theater System. The sound effects blow me out of my seat!

My complaint is that the dialog coming off the center speaker seems to be too soft. I understand that this problem is inherent in all HTS. Is there a way to tweak or boost it?

Thanks.

Though I'm not an expert, are you able to lower the volume on the OTHER speakers?

Or could you put the center speaker closer to the audience then recommended with the other speakers slightly further away than recommended?
Maybe I should be quiet and let someone who knows the specific system help...

Pump up the volume! Pump up the volume! TEST! TEST!

Pump up the jam, dude! (This is my pain medication induced way of saying "muck with the different volume controls for each speaker individually until you get it to where you want).

I don't even know how to mess around with the volume of each speaker. :(

I'm such a dolt. It's like buying a high-performance car when I don't even drive stick-shift. :(

You're totally screwed, then. Box it up and ship it to me and I'll figure it out for you.

Why won't you let anyone help you? :(

Danger Mouse,
Did you buy it at a place that would offer advice, like something other than Walmart, etc.
OR, even better, does Panasonic have a web site for technical assistance?

Be careful what you wish for!

(Super Mark is right, though, check out the tech support on Panasonic's website. Good first place to start. Also, talk to the guys at the place you bought it from and see if they can help.)

I bought it at a general store with no specific electrical goods department. I'll check Panasonic's website.

Thanks for the advice, Mark. At least you're offering something I can actually use other than ingenius ideas.

You'll thank me for those ingenious ideas, someday. You'll see.

Okay! Thank you Mark and (to some extent) jag!!

I called up Panasonic tech-support and matter solved! They told me the same thing you guys have been telling me: CRANK UP THE CENTER SPEAKER!!! :D And there's also this added feature called 'CENTER FOCUS' which further accentuates the center speaker.

They were kind enough to walk me through it. Now I know how to mess around with the volume of each speaker. IT'S SOOOOOO EASY!!! :D

The hard part was having to unpack it again after I've repacked it to be sent to jag...

And you thought I was just messin' with ya with that "Pump up the volume! Pump up the volume! Test! Test!" comment. It really was serious advice, even if the delivery was unorthodox. :D Glad you got it resolved, bro. Enjoy the new receiver.
