Solid Snake defeated Big Boss in combat...twice. Big Boss kept on getting his ass handed to him by Volgin and the Boss in Metal Gear Solid 3. Solid Snake also took down FOXHOUND, Dead Cell, and the nations of Outer Heaven, and Zanzibar Land. Not even Big Boss took down an entire nation all by himself.

Big Boss may have had more contributions, but Solid Snake's contributions were larger. Solid Snake takes the win.

There is no Metal Gear 3. Metal Gear Solid is technically Metal Gear 3.

Solid Snake stared in Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid, and co-starred Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. He will star in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

Big Boss stared in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. He went under the codename of Naked Snake. He will also star in Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops.

despite the fact big boss was the original, i think solid did more.

however, it isn't exactly true that big boss got his ass kicked by volgin and the boss. for volgin he never fought back until the battle in the pit under the shangohod which he won. and he also never actually tried to fight the boss because he didn't want to fight boss until the very end when everything was revealed.

still, i think solid snake did more.

also, solid snake is just full of bullsh|t and i love it. if you played the twin snakes, solid does the craziest things i've ever seen and seems much more acrobatic then big boss.

no, solid snake helps make the world a safer place by disarming weapons of mass destruction in the hands of dillusioned soldiers.

a soldiers' job is to protect the citizens of a region no matter the cost, and solid snake is the perfect soldier. solid continues to fight the good fight whereas big boss didn't.

Solid Snake is trying to make the world a better place for everyone. He wants to have the average joe safe from nuclear destruction. Hence why he formed Philanthropy with Otacon, Mei Ling, and Natasha. He is trying to bring down the Patriots for causing wars, destruction, and limiting human freedom. He is trying to stop soldiers from being used like he was.

Naked Snake was Big Boss's original codename before he became Big Boss. Hence why Solid Snake, Liquid Snake, and Solidus Snake have Snake for thier codnames.

Then he finds out she was doing her duty and those in charge disposed of her like she was garbage, despite being a great soldier. Deep down, despite being a hardened warrior, Big Boss is human. He has human emotions.
