Daylight savings begins three weeks earlier this year than usual.

And we return back to regular time in the first week of November and not during the Halloween week as before.

Gather around my child and I will tell you a tale of yore. In the days of 2005, Bush was President. It was such a different time for our country. Peyton Manning never won a Super Bowl and Britney Spears was only pregnant with her first.

It was on a hot day in July that Congressional representatives passed a law to have DST begin 3 weeks earlier, and extend 1 week later.

Some say, it was because people were afraid of the dark, others say it was because of Gnomes. Still others say that Lawmakers adopted the change as an energy-saving measure.

But the truth got lost somewhere in time and we may never know why we have more daylight.
