Song Nancy dances too in THGB

Meh, I strongly disagree. Its the perfect song for a country-western bar, and, IMO, captures that scene much better than that replacement. Not to mention its the one FM states is playing in the original books, AND ties into Marv's whole love for country music, which is further expounded upon in A Dame To Kill For.

I figure RR was just too lazy to get the rights. So much for the "perfect translation" of the film.

Well, I'm sorry. I just don't like country music. I love Kadie's bar...but not country music :( I'm like an alien in mars attacks...

That was more yodelling, actually.

Anyway, while it would have fit more in the adaptation, I like Marv's theme playing in Kadie's a lot better. It just gives Marv an even more "bad motherf**ker" vibe with that low jazz playing in the background.

Jessica Alba is also a crap dancer. Didn't even come close to capturing the amazing 2-page spreads of Nancy doing those cool looking moves with her lasso. Here we have her doing the same hip gyration over and over, and tossing her hair around. And it lasted all of what, 30 seconds tops?

Lame.

Well, most of the moves in the book would require most regular people to jack into the Matrix.

Not that I wouldn't like to see it, I'm just saying.

It's so beautiful and iconic. I love that whole sequence a lot more with Marv's theme than with some generic country music.

And if the film were just like the book Alba would have been wearing a bit less! I suppose there is always hope for the next one.

One thing I noticed--people always complain about Alba not being topless because it's against what the book looks like, and yet in both That Yellow Bastard and The Big Fat Kill, Hartigan and Dwight show their wedding tackles, and you don't hear jack about that. :o

Nancy is a stripper. Strippers are naked.

Hartigan and Dwight aren't strippers.

I'm just saying the main reason people say Albe should have been topless is because she's topless in the books, and I find that these guys say this and yet they never mention that Hartigan or Dwight should have been as well.

Also, look at it this way--I'm sure there would be a lot more female watchers if they found out that Clive Owen showed off what he's got in the movie, same that it would have got a lot more if Alba was topless.

The moral of the story? Nudity = money. :o

Well I wouldn't argue with that---except that male nudity tend to be more "funny" instead of "sexy," especially in the context of the comics:

Dwight walking around naked in Shellie's apartment.

Hartigan hanging naked from a ceiling fan.

Given the fact that Rodriguez injected a very comical tone to this otherwise dark and grimy comic book, people would've just laughed their asses off, thus diminishing the adaptation even further.

Meh, I agree with Charlie on this, the whole idea is that Nancy's a stripper. It's only Nancy that I really head a problem with. In the books, Nancy's not the only female who got nude. Shellie, Miho and Gail (buck naked and slammed against Manute) were all nude, too, but nobody complains about them, for the same reason nobody complains about Dwight or Hartigan because they were pointless and gratitotious. Nancy, however, was a stripper. Therefore, MADE sense that she was nude.
