How many songs do you have on your MP3 players, and are the majority of them of one particular genre or just different genres altogether?

Mine has a little over 900 and it's somewhat mixed although mostly hard rock/heavy metal.

About 950. The music is pretty much metal, but different branches of it: thrash, death, black, viking, industrial, progressive

I can only keep 250 or so songs on my iPod Shuffle, but that's more than enough for me. Fill it up with my songs of the week, plug it into the car, delete songs when I grow tired of them & repeat process.

To answer the question though, it has to be 98% rock and/or roll.

i am now at 2402. i deleted a lot, added a lot of new stuff and still have a couple hundred-ish to transfer over to my new computer

I got 965 right now. The metal was whittled down to artists that I'm going to purchase albums from. The rest didn't warrant purchase nor further listening so they were removed.

Now, it's a strange mix of Talking Heads, The Police, Oingo Boingo, Scientist, Cake, Mos Def, The Roots, and Galactic.

im actually very picky and selective about what goes into my itunes. it's all a variation of rock and roll to some degree, from the roots onward....starting with the delta blues and american folk, electric blues, country, rockabilly, lots of 60's pop, british invasion, underground 60's, garage rock, psychedelic pop, punk, etc....
