Here's the idea. Take a song that you like. Tell why you think it would work as a series, and give a simple premise. Give lyrics or a video.

My first choice is a song called Highwayman it's by a group called Highwayman that was made up of Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, and Willie Nelson.

The story tells of a man who may be reincarnated over thousands of years.

My idea for the series would have the guy being able to remember all of his past lives and drawing from those experiences.

Lyrics

I was a highwayman. Along the coach roads I did ride
With sword and pistol by my side
Many a young maid lost her baubles to my trade
Many a soldier shed his lifeblood on my blade
The bastards hung me in the spring of twenty-five
But I am still alive.

I was a sailor. I was born upon the tide
And with the sea I did abide.
I sailed a schooner round the Horn to Mexico
I went aloft and furled the mainsail in a blow
And when the yards broke off they said that I got killed
But I am living still.

I was a dam builder across the river deep and wide
Where steel and water did collide
A place called Boulder on the wild Colorado
I slipped and fell into the wet concrete below
They buried me in that great tomb that knows no sound
But I am still around..I'll always be around..and around and around and
around and around

I fly a starship across the Universe divide
And when I reach the other side
I'll find a place to rest my spirit if I can
Perhaps I may become a highwayman again
Or I may simply be a single drop of rain
But I will remain
And I'll be back again, and again and again and again and again..

NOFX: Go to work wasted.

It would be a show like cops or with just like hidden cameras about people trying to work drunk.

I would watch it.

Lyrics:
Im overhung, overslept
Im ripe, desheveled, perfectly unkempt
I like my drink, mit toast and eggs
The best bloody mary you've ever tasted

Go to work wasted
Go to work bombed
You gotta pull a shot before you start the job
I wanna operate heavy machinery
I wanna watch online pornography

You gotta go to work high
If you're getting paid low
Gotta put your nose to the grindstone stoned
That elbow grease wont get you *****ed
You dont wanna be a big jerk or a schmuck

Oh, or the Mastodon CD Blood Mountain. The whole thing. Like an HBO miniseries. Or hell, even Leviathan.

I would also watch that.

"Hello / Goodbye (Uncool)"
Lupe Fiasco

[Chorus (x2):]
Hello darkness, hello sunshine, hello not at all, hello all the time
Hello no where, hello oblivion, hello goodbye

Hello Darkness
You [x6]

[Verse 1]
All in together the weather is better than ever
I hope it never ends I hope it lasts forever
But when it does, we can all pretend that it's better than it's ever been
Lie to ourselves like the sky to rebel
And its well and its fine and its fine if it fell
And you couldn't find the story line if you survive to retell
We are targets, Hello darkness

[Chorus]

[Lupe mumbling]
Said everything is going to be fine
Said everything is gonna be OK
Said just don't breathe the air

[Verse 2]
He just sits and waits for them to kick in the door
He once was a hero they don't love him no more
There's a blast, every time a foot hits the floor
His gift for not fighting another man's war
And if they can get their hands on the mask that he wore
On his face, they can put somebody else in his place and restore
The state, the illusion that its safe
the faith, that being a slave is great
As gas fills the room and rockets destroy everything around him
He stands to find himself surround
By thousands of soldiers that his once trained to never miss their targets
Heartless, Hello Darkness

[Chorus]

Please to make your acquaintance
Salutations, Kanechiwa
Hello end of the world, how are you... I'm fine

Post Apocalytpic/1984 future were an the father of the super soldier aides the resistance, against his better judgement. Kinda that Matrix/V for Vendetta/Equilibrium wake up from the vibe, lots of gunplay and martial arts, masks, costumes, and broken families trying to piece themselves back together. Booyah.

See, I've got a couple of these "Make ______ into a TV series". It is my hope to help reignite the imaginations of Hollywood to make some new TV series that are half way descent. How would you go about pitching a series to the networks?

Nice.

Well, sell it as Equilibrium meets V for Vendetta in a post-apocalytpic world. Get a charismatic actor, likely yet another movie actor coming down to TV level. Set up the main cast as a rag-tag down to earth bunch, and sell the relationships between them as compelling and heightened in the high-pressure atmosphere, give the "government" a powerful look, so much so that it evokes feelings of star wars, especially as the elite soldiers of our star's type are few and far between.

Throw out some of the twists... the conflict between our old hero and young hero. Let the Government's elite warrior be the old hero's daughter and best student. Let the high ranking government officer have a soft side. Sell the twists, the quirks. Sell the having hope and good times in the midst of bad times aspect as having echoes in our lives today.
