Action-Adventure Sonic 3... and Shadow

Box Office Theory put out their 5 week out forcast for both Mufasa and Sonic. Right now projections are as follows for Opening Weekend:

Mufasa:
Low. High Target
$57,000,000$69,000,000$61,000,000

Sonic 3:
Low High Target
$53,000,000$62,000,000$56,000,000

I imagine the Sonic numbers should go up after the next trailer, rumor looks like to be on the 25th of Nov and that tickets will go on sale.

Sonic 2 had a $72.1 Mil opener. One would assume that Sonic 3 should at least match the opening, but it also didn't have to compete with Disney.

Sonic 3 getting like 500 million or more would be cool.

I think the floor for Sonic 3 is 500 Million. Like its only 95 Million more than the WW gross of Sonic 2, but I feel the SA2/Shadow/Keanu factor bumps up the WW total by at least 100 million.

I do think the ceiling is in the $725 Million range. But realistically if it can make $550+ WW Paramount's gotta take that is a clear W. And worth future franchise development, though we do Sonic 4 is indeed on the horizon.

I think if Sonic can at least get close to matching Sonic 2's Opening weekend of $72.1 Million and be about $120 Million domestically by the end of 2024, I think those would be respectable numbers. Mufasa is going to make its money and hurt Sonic's opening weekend numbers for sure. But I think Sonic may have better legs going into January.

Trailer tomorrow you think? They're released pretty much all the posters and those are usually the lead up too the trailer

I keep forgetting that Sonic 3 is coming.

I gotta watch that Knuckles show and catch up.
