definetly. I also think what needs to be taken into account that the PS3 ahs only been out a few months and a large number of its exclusives will be coming out later in the year. Right now the software is limited but by this time next year, it will have a stronger presence bc alot of its big name games will have been released

I was sold on 360 by two things: the prospect of live, and the excellent exclusives like Dead Rising, Gears of War, Alan Wake, Bioshock, Mass Effect and others. It seemed like MS got heavy hitter after heavy hitter, and Sony didn't counter at all. And since most of the great multi platform games are coming to 360 (Darkness, Alone in the Dark, RE5 and ohers) and with much better online options, it just sealed the deal for me personally. I honestly, truly don't get why people would want a ps3, outside of brainless brand loyalty. Sony did so much right with the first two PS and PSP, I honestly expected better for their fourth console.

I didn't say they wouldn't be good enough, but I am telling you now, NO system is worth buying for TWO games at five hundred bucks (even more when you factor in the UK pound to dollar rate.). No frigging way. Not even God of War. I'm sure at least God of War will be stellar, but not worth that. I have plenty of stellar games on my 360 I can play and not loose 200 bucks on too.

If you haven't heard of Alan Wake or Bioshock or Mass Effect, I have to question if you are a real gamer or not. Even Zenien and Avalanche have heard of them I'm betting. Do you live under a huge rock or something?

PSOne, PS2, PSP and PS3 = 4 consoles. One is a hand held console, but a console nonetheless.

Yeah those two series have have the most dedicated fans that Ive seen of any game. I didnt see what the big deal was until I went and tried FFX and MGS2S for the PS2, but I digress

Oh definetly not for 2 games, and if its only 2 games that you or anyone could see yourself interested in, then dont waste the money. I've only ever bought one console in each generation (the exception being DC and PS2), and there were a few games on the other system, but 1 or 2 here and there wasnt enough to convince me to buy

Ive heard the names Bioshock and Mass Effect mentioned but know absolutely nothing about them. They dont get nearly the buzz that Gears did and does and I know it without ever playing that. I hate to tell you this, but you are one of the MOST biased people I have ever met. Video games, politics, comics, movies, you name it, you are very biased.

Just because you don't give a damn about them does not deny the fact that they are system sellers. Metal Gear and Final Fantasy are Playstation system sellers. People buy the damn consoles to play games like Metal Gear and Final Fantasy because the core games of those series are exclusive to the Playstation and they have their hard-core fans.

I completely agree. However, Sony should not be to blame. Ken Kutaragi should be. It's mostly his fault for the lack of third-party exclusives and Sony is very angry with him for this particular reason. UbiSoft offered Sony exclusitivity with Assassin's Creed and Kutaragi's arrogance is the reason why it isn't. I wouldn't be surprise if his arrogance is the reason why Grand Theft Auto IV isn't exclusive also. Those two games probably would be exclusive if it weren't for Kutaragi. I'm not counting Virtua Fighter 5 against Sony because I'm surprised that Virtua Fighter 4 didn't end up on the Xbox and Capcom is going with a completely multiplatform route which resulted in Devil May Cry 4 going multiplatform.

You have to realise that people who buy the Playstation 3, they see those games, but they also see these ones, even if you PERSONALLY don't like them:

- Ratchet and Clank: Future Tools of Destruction
- Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
- Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier
- Final Fantasy XIII
- Final Fanstay Versus XIII
- Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots
- Tekken 6
- White Knight Story
- Heavenly Sword

Also, pretty much a free blu-ray DVD player and a 60GB hard drive helps things.

I completely agree with you on Xbox Live, it's a great service and is definetely a reason to own an Xbox 360. Those games you mentioned are a great reason to own one also. But you have to take into account on this:

1. The Xbox 360 has been out for a year and four months. It had a rather lackluster launch line-up, but now the game library which already includes games like Gears of War, Dead Rising, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, Crackdown, and Dead or Alive 4. Because it's been out for a year. The library was given time to develop into a rather good one. This year advantage is allowing them to have more awesome games like Halo 3, Alan Wake, BioShock, and Too Human to come out very soon. And allows the announcement of even more games to look forward to in the future like Halo Wars, Fable 2, Lost Odyssey, Banjo-Kazooie 3, and more will be announced because the system has been out for a year longer than the Playstation 3.

2. The Playstation 3 has been out for four months. It's very obvious that the game library will be inferior to the Xbox 360's at the time being. The games announced for it that are system sellers still have a ways to go before being released and games like Metal Gear Solid 5, God of War 3, etc. still need to be announced before we can even look forward to them.

Brainless brand loyalty is also helping the Playstation 3 out a bit too.

What Sony Needs To Do
1. Price Cut: Yes a blu-ray DVD player is nice along with a 60GB hard drive, but people do not want to spend $600.00 for a video game console, especially when the other two competitors are selling their consoles for $249.99 and $399.99 and have better game libraries.

2. Try and Keep the Remaining Exclusive Games, Exclusive: I'm not talking about Grand Theft Auto IV, Assassin's Creed, Unreal Tournament 3, and Mercenaries 2: World in Flames. Those games were always going to be multiplatform even if the Playstation 3 version was announced first. I'm talking about Devil May Cry 4 and Virtua Fighter 5. It's humiliating for Sony to lose these games and they should work harder to keep the Metal Gear and Final Fantasy games exclusive. If they don't, I see the nails in the coffin being nailed for the Playstation 3.

3. Get Rid of Ken Kutaragi: The man's an arrogant *******. It's his fault why production costs are so high for the Playstation 3 and why Sony's profits are falling sharply because of it. It's his fault why the exclusives are lacking. And he says the most annoying comments like "Xbox 1.5," "4-D," and the Playstation 3 being "too cheap." He did great things for Sony and the video game world, but his success led him to being very egotistical and it's time to put him out to pasture.

4. Nab Some Third-Party Exclusives: It's too late for Devil May Cry 4, Grand Theft Auto V, and Virtua Fighter 5, but Sony can try and get them back with Devil May Cry 5, Grand Theft Auto V, and Virtua Fighter 6. Also get some original properties like Microsoft has like BioShock, Bullet Witch (even if that game sucked), Condemned: Criminal Origins, Dead Rising, Lost Planet, etc.

5. Make a new model that has a 120GB hard drive and HDMI cables to compete with the Xbox 360 Elite, a rumble sensor along with the motion sensor in the SIXAXIS, and a built in Memory Card adaptor. Along the way sell it at the same price as the Xbox 360 Elite and make sure there are no bugs along the way, unlike the last time.

I don't, and from a gamer's point of view, they have nothing that interests me, and certainly nothing worth the investment. To me, the PS3 is just , in sony's eyes, a cheap way to get blu ray into homes. If people buy into it, good for them. I'm not going to. I don't see that changing. I don't think sony seem to care too much about hardcore gamers any more, but that's no longer my concern. I have a 360 for gaming and will own a wii at some point. I went to GR because the Game forum was dead, Evan invited me, and I wanted to get away from the Console Wars for the most part. Without the Xbots, the Sony ****es got to annoyingness of epic proportions.
