Soul Calibur IV

Thank god that this is not a Playstation exclusive (it pissed me off when they did it with SC3 when I wanted to play it on the Gamecube)

SOUL CALIBUR IV!!! SOUL CALIBUR IV!!! SOUL CALIBUR IV!!! ...whoops, sorry. I'll clean that up.

I dont think you missed much as I didnt really care for SC3. I thought the original was by far the best, with SC2 coming in second. Hoepfully SC4 is better

After the abomination that was "Soul Calibur 3" I will not be playing any more SC games.

Can I ask you guys, what was so wrong with SCIII?

...Other than the fact that it corrupted your memory card.

The terrible tacked-on strategy. And the awful song that accompanied it.

I hope this time around it's more fully-featured like Soul Calibur 2 and not a hack job like Soul Calibur 3. Lord, they really butchered the characters and ruined the game balance in that one.

Why isn't this in Multi platform?

EDIT: Good lord... Ivy.... seriously....

What a crap trailer.

And yeah, multi-platform forum with this.

Welcome back...to the stage of history.

THe latest EGM has an exclusive on it.

EGM:

- Soul Calibur IV will run 60 frames per second(this was revealed previously).
The amount of detail in the game will be amazing! “The leather straps on Ivy’s thighs make real-time indentations into her skin as she fights.”
- The development team is putting so much detail into the game that they are actually rendering Taki’s nipples under her leotard.
- New characters will be kept under wraps and revealed closer towards the release date.
- “Guard Impact” is back.
- Stage design is still very early in development. Make sure to take note of these screens as the game progresses.
- The stages will be far more interactive and play a bigger role in battle. They use Zasalamel’s clock tower stage as an example.
- The development team is hoping to reduce the rate of ring out victories by making stages much larger than before.
- The game will be based on the Soul Calibur III engine and will be reworked from the ground up for balance reasons.
- Patching the game is possible if any issues come up with gameplay, but “we don’t intend to make a game that needs to be patched at a later date.”
- The health gauge is going to be changed. There will be a way to beat your opponent that doesn’t involve the health gauge or ring outs.
- No tag-team play.
- In regards to Soul Calibur on the PSP: “We’re happy to hear that players would like to see Soul Calibur on the PSP, so we’ll keep that in mind.”
- The “Create A Soul” mode is getting major improvements, such as being able to change your characters voice and certain customizations that will have an effect on gameplay.
- Online custom character trading is a possibility, as well as bringing your custom character to a friend’s house.

---------------------------

Firstly, the focus on the graphics being so good Ivy's leather straps leave marks on her thighs, and Taki's nipples are being rendered under her clothes. Eh? Yeah, because that's what the fans are most concerned about. I suspect the graphics won't be focussing on rendering the guy's bulges within their trousers.

Customisable items that effect the gameplay. Seems very Tekken 5.

Being based on the SCIII engine. Going to annoy a lot of people, but hopefully they'll fix it.

Wow those boobs are just ridiculous.

Namco trying to steal the throne of DoA?

I've never seen boobs that big and 'supple' except in anime, it is beyond bizarre to see them rendered with 3D graphics.

Good god. She should bury the other fighter's in her tatas. Fight over.

The breasts are a little ridiculous, as is the general over-focus on the girls in the games and how the improved graphics make them even more sexy. That's never what the true fans of Soul Calibur have been interested, so quite why they're hamming it up I don't know.

I'm a little curious as to how we'll be able to defeat an opponent without depleting their health bar, or obtaining a ring out. Perhaps it has something to do with the more interactive arenas. Ways to lure opponents into areas which start a sequence. Seems a little Mortal Kombat to me, and that's not a good thing in my eyes.

Yay! Tira is back! She was my favorite addition in Soul Calibur 3 and I'm glad she's in Soul Calibur 4 and cuter than ever. Look at that hair!

And what's the problem with boobs anyway. Everyone loves them so why the complaining? Ivy having awesome breasts won't change the gameplay one bit, all it will do is make the game more interesting. I prefer my female fighters half-nude, thank you very much.
