Is there a more current thread for the discussion of the score? I searched and couldn't find anything (and figured this was old news, since it was posted on May 30), but the score will be released in four formats, according to this article...

Really looking forward to it. Now I just gotta find out what the difference is between the special and collector's editions, and which stores will carry them.

Didn't Spider-man 3 have one of those Soundtracks?

...And spider-man 3... Umm, SUCKED.

My current favorite track from the TDK OST is "Like a Dog Chasing Cars", and the Joker theme is really growing on me too.

I also like how "I'm Not A Hero" begins. Have to really listen to the rest though. But is it just me, or does it seem like there are fewer tracks in this one?

like a dog chasing cars is definitly my fave.. i really hope thats the hero theme and we hear it a lot in the movie..

They could just reuse R.Kelly's "Gotham City" with its' fabolous lyrics

"City of justice
city of love
a city of piece
for everyone of us
we all need it
can't live wihout it
Gotham Citaaaaaaaaaay!"

And why not take R. Kelly's "Bad Man" and rename it in "Batman"?

R. Kelly is MEANT to be played throughout all of a Nolan Batman movie!

If i didn't know better i'd think that question was a joke.

Anyway.. I haven't had a chance to listen to the OST yet, but I'm gonna as soon as I get home. No looks of disapproval my way.. I definitely plan on buying the cd.

I'm listening to it on youtube and it's ****ing awesome.

I liked "LaDCC" too. For me, I was really disapointed with the Joker's theme (WsS/track 1). I was hoping it would have been more like Track 2, 2:13-2:40.

It's as if Zimmer wasn't even trying on some of these tracks, except for "Harvey Two-Face" which was all Howard. That track (3) had such depth and emotion.

I was referring to the score. Used the search function to find this thread. Didn't bother to read the first post though.

Don't forget R Kelly's "Gotham City" song, City of love, city of peace...

I actually like that song

Gotham City>>>>>>>>>>>Kiss from a Rose

I don't like the idea of having a 'pop' soundtrack for a movie. Not unless you're talking along the lines of Cameron Crowe, where the mainstream rock/pop/R&B/rap music is supposed to have some significance with the movie, characters, and the director's vision.

But, when you just put pop music as a soundtrack like Spider Man, then I'm not for it. I preferred Elfman's score over the crappy emo bands they featured on the seperate CD. And someone pointed out correctly in that they are just cheap marketing ploys to push for the latest & hottest bands.

Personally, with Begins and now with Knight, I think the Zimmer/Howard score is perfect the way it is. It sets the atmosphere, tone and feeling you need to connect with the movie and just for a stand alone listen. Having listened to leaked score, it stands out more and I can take it seriously. If you're dealing with a Nolan production as huge as this, having a score is the way to go respectably. I would have lost a bit of respect if they decided to release a pop soundtrack.

And, just for the record, there are a few of these pop soundtracks that I actually did like. For guitly pleasure anyway. I did enjoy the Batman Forever soundtrack. The Blade movies had a few songs here and there. I can't seem to conjure up anymore other movies. I'm too distracted by listening to Nolan interview right now.
